the English Beat have confirmed the third month of summer touring in the United States, this time with Bad Manners and Chris Murray in tow. The long-running ska band toured with Fishbone in the spring and then kicked off their ongoing tour with Squeeze. The new shows kick off August 10th.

No, guys in checkered vans, having never heard of Bad Manners, are stoked to see Streetlight Manifesto.

Middle-aged guys who originally heard "Our House" on the radio are stoked for this show.

The times I've seen Bad Manners and The Selecter, they both brought in a considerably young crowd, but every time I've seen the English Beat, the average audience age is upwards of 40. No exaggeration. I guess the Beat is more grounded in New Wave nostalgia than their more actively ska-based contemporaries.

bad manners is great, but i don't think i want to see the english beat ever again. last time they played for like 3 hours. they played songs i didn't even know exhisted, and none of them were that great.

I still think its bullshit when Dave Wakeling has a solo tour in the US and calls his band "The English Beat". Yes, I will post this every time there's news of an "English Beat" tour.

It's still fun though. Hell, last time I saw Bad Manners, Monkey was the backup band.

I saw Bad Manners and English Beat play together a year or two ago. The singer from Bad Manners was fucking creepy, he looked like he was 65 years old and he kept sticking his tongue out in a sexually suggestive manner. Haven't listened to any of their stuff since. English Beat was ok, kinda boring though.

Buster Bloodvessel had a gastric bypass about a decade ago, which makes him look a little older, and big tongues are as synonymous with Bad Manners as they are with KISS. How shallow are you to not listen to someone's music because you don't like how the lead singer *looks*?

It's not really "sexual"...Gene Simmons is sexual when he wags it at the ladies in the audience, Buster just sticks it out to the beat of certain songs. Just about every publicity shot or fan photo he sticks his tongue out. Anyone who can look at Buster Bloodvessel and see something sexual most likely has some unresolved personal issues. :)
