I was half expecting that last hyperlink to take me to the inside of "The Official" Chuck Palahniuk's brain.

Chuck Palahniuk, eh? At what point do they discuss penis, rape, how every man is secretly at least mostly gay or something about poorly constructed plots?

Chuck Palahniuk is the M. Night Shyamalan of contemporary fiction.
Misanthropee (October 21, 2010)
Stoked to see so much Palahniuk-bashing here.

I hate to hate on Chuck, but his last few books have been really tough to get through. I really liked Fight Club and Choke and even Diary and Lullaby, and parts of Haunted, because a lot of the elements to the stories were way outside anything I'd ever give any thought. The last few books have been way too bogged down with his weird references and endless lists of things. The broken English ruined Pygmy, and what the hell is going on with all the pointless name-dropping in Tell-All? I tried, but I can't get through it.

1. I am (around) the same age as his kids. I feel dirty listening to newer Bad Religion.

I've always wondered what Douglas Coupland thought about the Ataris writing songs based off his novels.

Greg sounds like such a softy on religion now. Is this the same guy that used to sing "I'll believe in god when 1 and 1 are 5"? |

"This year marks the 30th anniversary of seminal punk rock act Bad Religion. Seminal as in highly influential, but also metaphorically, as in 'pertaining to or consisting of semen,' because from an evolutionary standpoint they are the seed that spawned countless bastard musical progeny."
Well that's awkward.
