Senses Fail critical of All Time Low, Boys Like Girls

In a new interview, Senses Fail's Buddy Nielsen spoke critically of pop-punk outfits like All Time Low and Boys Like Girls. He addresses a recent interview where he said this:

A band like All Time Low should have no business being associated with a band like Senses Fail, but they are. There's no similarity whatsoever in everything that we do. The Maine might as well be Matchbox 20. All Time Low might as well be Mickey Mouse Club. I like All Time Low, by the way. I do actually like them. I just like making fun of them. They did it to themselves. They could have been a fucking real band, but they decided to play the game, which is good, but the game never works."

I went. It was a really good time. This really rude woman in front of me kept cockblocking me. There was a guy who was really high on something behind me and kept freaking out. I played with puppies and drove eleven hours each way to and from the Rally. It was definitely worth it.

I don't know man, things like this do need to keep being brought up. I sit on the opposite side of musical ethos with almost the entirety of people I come into contact with on a daily basis and sometimes their stench rubs off on me. I mean no band or individual needs to toot their own horn all day but if you stay too passive on things you start to lose sight of what you are.

They do a cover of Suicidal Tendencies for one of the Tony Hawk games that is pretty good. I haven't heard any of their original stuff but based on that I don't think they would sound like the bands he was criticizing.

I thought the same thing most of the people do on this site, until i saw them live at warped. And he said something to the effect of "I like going to basement shows, I like hardcore shows and what hardcore represents" and just went crazy, which i never expected. I mean Senses Fail isnt my thing, but i at least respect him. He seems sincere to me.

Wow! First off Buddy is something you name a pet! Senses Fail is awful not as awful as All Time Low but that doesn't give fuck nuts any right to talk shit! The only thing Senses Fail has going for them is Jason Black who is arguably one of the best bassists in the business! I mean get real you have that moron from Midtown in your band which was the All Time Low of off 1999!

Fuck these guys, they called out Fight Fair recently too. I know Fight Fair are far from a good band, but they said something along the lines of 'New worst band ever. The guys who beat you up in high school now have a band.'
I dunno. Members of Fight Fair have been in actual legit screamo bands for years, and you just know they don't take their bad (albeit fun) music anywhere near as serious as Senses Fail take their bad music.

Fight Fair is everything i hate about that faux- poppunk warped tour scene. I listened to them before they put out their first demo and they were really the equivalent to a poppier version of set your goals(mutiny era) and then they turned to complete poprock shit. I can understand why someone wouldn't like Fight Fair out of all bands.

A rich kid from Jersey who starts a faux-angry emo band talks trash about other rich kids who started fun pop punk bands. Not defending All Time Low, because they're awful, but at least they kept it real. Senses Fail couldn't be more fake if they tried. Also, this is 2010; why is Senses Fail even still around and receiving relevance on here?

this is some goofass shit. None of these bands are AWFUL but none of them are INCREDIBLE either. talkin about each other ain't gonna make your band any better. and if a band wants to 'play the game' it's their decision to make, either course of action for a band involves a shitload of work and dedication. if you really wanna be a 'real fucking band' then do that, don't talk about each other like high school girls. drama. better to get along with bands, we're all just tryna do what we love right? Do it for you!

if the midtown dude is reading this- make another album with those dudes man. i'm not sayin go on tour or anything, but that last record was pretty excellent, my favorite thing you've worked on so far
