at least progress had structure and adhered to a theme. mandala just sounds like a whole bunch of wankery jam band musicians and prog rockers all playing their own individual songs on top of each other. "i have an idea for this next song, let's play 16 different guitar parts and throw some drums and keyboards somewhere in there and see how it goes."

Pretty sure if the label owns the master, they can do whatever they want with it. Contracts, how do they work?

Actually I think RX Bandits have never been better. Mandala still blows my mind.

I can understand their frustration. They may have wanted to update the artwork or the linear notes and the fact that they can't do that or receive a profit, stinks.

They probably can't sell it on their website either because of the situation.

RX Bandits used to be my favourite band. Progress and Resignation are still some of my fav albums. I complained for 10 years about them not coming to Australia. And when they finally did could only manage to play the shitty soundwave festival. Add the weak Mandala album to that and I'm starting to find it read hard to care about this band. Of course you don't get paid and have no control over something you don't own. Did they really expect DTR to ask them if it's ok? It's a business my friends, play the game and deal with the consequences.

I'm going to buy one of these and ask them to sign it.

this whole thing is such a mess at this point. i'm a big RXB fan, and i emailed Enjoy The Ride to get some details about all this. the guy came off totally unprofessional and rude, but he did explain that they are trying to work out some agreement with the band. i hope they figure something out. i would love to own this on wax - but not if RXB doesn't see a penny. yes, i understand that they may have sealed their own fate all those years ago with Drive Thru, but the fact that this is STILL a problem is ridiculous.

you motherfuckers can't HANDLE mandala. everything since progress has been fantastic and better than the last- Mandala is an album that will grow and grow on the people who can appreciate it, and will be as timeless as Yes's Fragile or Close to the Edge. i appreciate that they push it with each album and play what they 're feeling regardless of what the select few wankers have to say about how the old shit was so much better. LISTEN TO MANDALA AGAIN. let it sink in. can you even comprehend what they're doing on the track Breakfast Cat? thats some nasty innovative rhythmic madness, dueling time signatures and shit. its an endlessly impressive album that sounds too busy at first but grows with each listen
