In Flames to release ‘Sounds of a Playground Fading’ in May

Swedish metal veterans In Flames have titled their upcoming record Sounds of a Playground Fading. There's no mention as to whether the title is a tribute to the opening scene of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, but there is confirmation that the album will be released on May 13.

I honestly hope this won't suck. Come Clarity was a really solid record, but ASOP was boring and uninspired.

Colony is probably my favorite metal record of the past 15 years. Everything since has just been mediocre to me

Clayman is solid as well, but I still think all their output is mediocre pop-oriented knockoffs of better bands. Of course now they suck monumentally hard and sound like the bastard child of Korn and Avenged Sevenfold.

I liked Reroute To Remain and everything before. I thought everything after has been pretty boring. They're the Weezer of Swedish melodic death metal.

They kind of fell into that, "let's try to sound like the more successful younger bands who claim to be influenced by us," and it hasn't done them well.

Clayman is my all-time favourite metal record. That being said, Colony and R2R are awesome too. The rest are good but not great, but the last one just plain sucks.
