The Strokes don't write their own songs, therefore I can only like them to a certain extent, they also kinda suck.

Where'd you get this from? 'Cause my copy of Is This It pretty clearly states that all of the lyrics were written by Julian Casablancas and the songs were composed by The Strokes. And besides, all of Elton John's lyrics are written by Bernie Taupin. Should I stop listening to Elton John just because he doesn't write his words? That's fucking stupid.

Yeah, someone else told me that Strokes didn't write their own music but the liner notes CLEARLY state that they do. I do get bummed when I find out that a song a like was written by a ghost writer. Luckily for me, I listen to a bunch of broke-ass creative-types who could never afford to pay someone to write songs for them and would never be caught doing it regardless. Most of the stuff on the radio isn't written by the "bands" that "preform" them.

The Strokes, on that note, are solid as fuck.
