Ear achingly? That sounds a bit unfair, sir. The recording is top notch, except for the snare, wich , indeed, sounds artificial. This said, the music on this album is incredible. Good sign, Fat.

Fat Wreck bands need to relocate to Bandcamp. They seem to be the only label left streaming albums from Myspace still. In my head.
