Casey Royer (D.I., Adolescents, Social Distortion) sentenced to 90 days

Just shy of a month after his arrest for child endangerment and being under the influence of heroin, former Social Distortion and Adolescents drummer and current D.I. singer Casey Royer has been sentenced to a 90-day jail term and placed on probation for three years.

The musician was watching television with his 12-year old son when he allegedly overdosed on heroin. His son went to neighbours to get help and the musician was hospitalized. The charges of child abuse and child endangerment were dropped, so Royer was convicted of one count of being under the influence of a controlled substance

The probation can't be too strict considering DI has shows booked in Chicago and Washington DC (and probably more) this summer.

Generally, even if you are on probation you can still leave the state if it's for work.

Casey's a wreck, always has been. Back around 1999-2000, my old band used to have a rehearsal lock out in ahaheim. D.I. (or some incarnation of them) were our neighbors for a bit. We shared some very interesting late-night conversations.

That's fucked up. I could give a shit if he's under the influence of a controlled substance. The fact that he did it around his kid is whats really fucked up. He should've been convicted of the other two charges instead. Just my two cents.
