Dan Potthast (MU330), members of Slow Gherkin form Dan P and The Bricks

Dan Potthast of MU330 has formed a new ska band dubbed Dan P and The Bricks. The 10 piece group, which also features members of Slow Gherkin, will be releasing their debut soon via Asian Man Records.

We'll keep you posted as more details surface.

Is anyone else getting Seether add as the top banner? I mean, what orger is really gonna get the new Seether song?

This is pretty rad though. Anything involving Dan Potthast is good.

My girlfriend dragged me to a festival they were playing on Sunday which also featured Muddle of Pud, Stone Sour and Godsmack, Seether were one of the better bands, unfortuantely.

I always forget how much I loved "Double Happiness" until someone mentions Slow Gherkin once every two years or so.

I always thought that was by far the weakest of their albums, but the kids seem to love it.

Same here. I would go Shed Some Skin(one of my favorite albums, period), Run Screaming, then Double Happiness.

Shed Some Skin is fantastic and beautiful in every way... Double Happiness has some fun tunes though.

shed some skin is so great. i play it once every say 2 years or so, but it's always magic. one of the few ska albums from my teen years that's aged well.

'Shed Some Skin' still sounds fresh and original, even today. The musicianship is outstanding. In all of 1997, I'm hard-pressed to think of any other band that brought such musical substance to the genre of ska-punk.

Unfortunately, I think it's SG's only consistent album. There are some good songs on the other two, sure, but 'Run Screaming' completely abandoned the ska elements for plain indie rock and 'Double Happiness' was nothing but generic third wave....'Shed Some Skin' was the perfect balance.

Still, psyched to see them live in June (twice!).
