Earth Crisis is Earth Crisis. This is exactly what I expected.

Also, there are 5000 hardcore bands WAY more embarrassing that Earth Crisis.

I had something longer typed, but decided to eschew it because what it really comes down to is I hate their music and I think it's boring. Also, I don't approve of hardcore bands signing to major labels. We could go back and forth about the quality of the music or the merits of signing to majors vs staying with an indie label or maintaining a DIY ethos, but it's really just a matter of opinion. I just don't like them. I also find their fanbase to be alienating.

That said, I do think it's cool that they continue to maintain their stance on animal issues. However I find their views on straight edge (specifically other people's straight edge, or lack thereof) to be ludicrous. Blah blah personal choice blah blah, there's nothing I could say here that hasn't been said a billion times. I wonder how they feel about freedom of abortion, given they clearly have strong beliefs about what other people do with their own bodies.

I agree with you on just about every count. I think signing to a major is typically stupid for "hardcore" bands, I think their support of animal rights is good and I also think they often give sXe a bad name.

I just happen to like some "mosh"/breakdown heavy metallic hardcore from time to time and Earth Crisis does that pretty well (not always though!)

I just think there are way worse things happening in hardcore than Earth Crisis. I would take 1000 Earth Crisis' over 1 Asking Alexandria (I know not technically hardcore but you get the point)

The subject matter for their follow-up to this album will be about how no Vegan restaurants offer senior citizen discounts. Speaking of dining, it would be funny if Carl tucked his bandana into his collar while eating or used it as a napkin on his lap.

This song was pretty awesome though.
