Hip hop collective Doomtree have announced plans for a homage project entitled Wugazi (Fugazi mixed with Wu Tang Clan). The project will be titled 13 Chambers and is scheduled to be released on July 13th. A track from the album, "Sleep Rules Everything Around Me" can be heard below.

I'd guess someone came up with the word 'Wugazi' whilst drunk one night, and have spent all their spare time thinking it was funny.

I thought of Reefknot. Slipknot songs done in the style of (UK rockers) Reef. Or the other way round depending on the audience.
Can i get a record deal please?

Seriously, loving this. The thing that trips me out is that it's done by Cecil Otter, who I love as a rapper but have always felt his production work needed to be reeled in and edited. I could not be more into this.

Agreed. Really liked the mix of the song selections...it works well. Necro did a Wu-Tang remix album a few years back called Wu-Tang Over Necro Beats (really original title, I know), but there's some good stuff there, too. I think I might like this better, though.

Girl Talk mashed up Rhianna & Waiting Room on his last record and it came out fucking amazing. Maybe Fugazi just lends itself to hip hop. Who knows...

Interesting... may have to give the album a listen as this sounded cool. Definitely better than Wu-Tang's set at Glastonbury because they were shiiiit. I've barely listened to Fugazi in so many years, too, maybe I should fix that.

at least i try to make comments not rehashed jokes that are on every single thread on this website pitchfork has such better coverage every other story on here goes on pitchfork but always a few days sooner pitchfork also realizes that the average person is just to stupid to contribute to the conversation so they dont allow comments like while i was reading reviews on itunes i came across this from someone likeing the new george strait song.

I will not open my mouth to say anything good or bad comments of what im all about going to say, because god knows the hearts and minds of everytone here on this earth. But i will say i have made george strait, to become my idol when i was two years old when i committed my first sin becofre the the lord my god. when jesus died on the cross he has already forgiven me of my sin, im not saing that george strait is not a bad country singer for everybody else, we need to remind ourselves that jesus christ is kind of kinds and the lord of lords, but george strait is the kind of country music god is over than george strait.
