Mates Of State Connecticut-based modern pop duo Mates Of State have announced a string of U.S. tour dates. Starting on September 21, the band will tour the east coast, kicking off at D.C.'s 9:30 Club. The tour is in support of the band's newest record, Mountaintops, which will be released on September 13th via Barsuk Records. Mountaintops is their full-length follow up to 2008's Re-Arrange Us. We previously reported about it here.

Stereogum.com released the first music video from the new album called "Maracas." The video is patterned after The Old Grey Whistle Test, the British music television show from the 70's and 80's, featuring the band playing the song in a seemingly live setting.
