The lineup and dates for the AP Tour Fall 2011 has been announced. This year's iteration will be headlined by Four Year Strong, with support from Gallows (their first tour with their new, TBA frontman), Title Fight, The Swellers and Sharks.

They'll have a half-hour set, maybe 35 minutes. And none of these rooms are really "big theaters," most are between 700-1200 cap.

That and Boston's HOB are pretty much the big exceptions to the rule on this tour. Again, the bulk of the shows are 1000-1200 cap rooms, if not less when you get to smaller markets.

Just because a venue has the word "theater" in its name doesn't mean it's actually a big theater. Theater tours are generally 3-4k cap rooms, and usually are seated events.

Well I only really like one band playing and they're not headlining and it's not in an environment that I would enjoy seeing them. Is that really worth an hour of driving?

Seriously, outside of Four Year Strong (who I just don't like but have no super strong objections too) this is a really solid line up. Like far better than I'd ever expect out of AP. I still don't know if I'd go just because I worry about Chris Hansen being there.

They're headlining. It's pretty easy to take them off the tour. Just leave before they come on. Which is what I plan on doing.

i saw that band four year strong open up for bad religion. awful band. the kids ate em up though. thank god i'm old!

I hate to break it to you, but they didn't open for Bad Religion. They opened for Rise Against. You were at a $50 Rise Against show and tried to pass it off like you weren't. Your opinion has no weight.

yea they both opened for rise against. and the band was still terrible. and it turned into a $20 bad religion show because of the scalper outside trying to get rid of tickets. my opinion is the only opinion that matters.

ok, so there's the boss man bruce springsteen, then there's the gaslight anthem who really seem to worship him, then there's sharks. so sharks are a band that everybody compares to the gaslight anthem, and yet the aformentioned band gets compared to the boss. soooooo what i've been thinking about for a while now is that sharks are a band twice removed from their source material and are just trying to copy an american act that was really only trying to pay tribute to a classic american act...

can you dig this analogy??? it's something i've been stewing in my head for a while now and i'm finally stating it...

I don't understand why sharks would opt to do such a terrible tour. I guess it coincides with them recording the album, but come on. Four Year Strong? The Swellers?

I dont get why everyone seems to hate Four Year Strong. Sure, they bring a younger audience which I'm not crazy about, but to say they aren't a good live band is straight bats--t. After 16 years of listening to punk, I f-ing love these guys. Ya'll are nuts. Aside from the garbage covers album they released, all 3 of their original albums are excellent, and they all have a slightly different sound. And for less than $20, come on. Cant wait to see them at the Troc.

Bummed I missed out on the Gallows the first time around. I doubt they can find a guy to fill that singer's shoes.

Doubt I'd go to the WeHo HOB for this anyway.
