Media: Break Anchor (Suicide Machines) stream new songs

Break Anchor, a new project from Jay Navarro (The Suicide Machines, Hellmouth), has launched a stream of their first three recorded songs.

No word on when or if they'll be receiving a physical release, but for now you can stream them via Bandcamp.

I saw them for the first time a week ago... they were pretty good and not what I expected.

but its weird to see jay with a guitar. its just not right.

but anyway, they are way better live than in this recording.

Right, but after Hellmouth, wasn't sure if he was just going to stay at home to support his family and what not. He has kids you know. Just glad he hasn't hung up his vocal cords.

if you're interested in getting one of the songs, Elkion Records has a benefit comp on itunes with one track from Break Anchor plu unreleased songs from Telegraph and Few and Far Between as well as previously released, though impossible to find tracks from Suburban Deliquents, Slo-Poke and Wrist Rocket. Break Anchor played with the rest of the bands at a benefit show last week and really impressed me. I love that none of Jay's bands have ever resempled any of the others. The Machines, Left In Ruin, Hellmouth and now Break Anchor, all completely different styles

yeah they played, personally i thought it was a much better show that either of the other 2 reunion shows they did. great mix of old and new songs and they seemed to be having a blast. unfortunately i wouldn't hold my breath about any further shows, they are swearing up and down that this one was it (which they also said about the last one but then the benefit came up and they decided to give it one more go)

Telegraph played an amazing set that night, I went to see break anchor (punk rock for a good cause at the majestic?? pretty sweet deal!!), but Telegraph really blew me away. Sad that I grew up and have lived in the area for 25ish years and that was my first time seeing em live. Back to break anchor....hard to place exactly what it is, I dig them, catchy enough, but with a little edge, and definitely one of the "newer " bands that seems to have promise.

it was a fun show all around. it was great seeing all of the old Livonia bands playing again even if it was just a one off night. kinda wish i hadn't been taping Wrist Rocket's set so i could have enjoyed them a bit more. i'm definately interested to see where they take Break Anchor. the Jawbreaker cover was great

I remember catching Telegraph in Flint in like 1998. It was the first "punk" show I ever went to and it was fantastic.

Yeah, I really don't care for this. The idea that the same guy who spews such venom in Hellmouth could sing a turd like "Can We Pretend" almost makes Hellmouth songs seem disingenuous. The lyrics in that song are so laughably bad I can't believe anyone could take it seriously.
