Today we're happy to bring you a selection of new tracks from Chuck Ragan, Sam Russo, Jimmy Islip and Helen Chambers. The four will be releasing a split LP next month via Specialist Subject and we've got one new song from each artist.

Sam Russo is one of the most tolerable of the 'guys with acoustic guitars who open up punk shows' that are apparently de rigeur these days.

Maybe that was damning with faint praise, he's a good songwriter and I've enjoyed him live, but he's near the tip of an iceberg of shit acoustic acts that play punk shows that are even more noticeably shit than shit punk bands because they don't have any noise or speed to cover up their obvious limitations.

I wasn't describing you specifically as that but you're definitely part of a trend. You're the good part though, sub-Bob Dylan wannabes one-step removed from Wonderwall guitar guys at shit parties are clearly the second-artist syndrome price we have to pay to enjoy your music.

Sam Russo is amazing, I seriously recommend getting your hands on as much of his stuff as you possibly can.
