The Dead Milkmen to release ‘The King in Yellow’ on CD

The Dead Milkmen will be pressing a CD copy of their new album, The King in Yellow, for release on October 25, 2011. The record was released digitally in March of 2011 The King in Yellow is the band's first set of new material since 1995's Stoney's Extra Stout (Pig).

The band recorded basic tracks in two weekend sessions in November (South Street Soundz) and December (Miner Street Studios) 2010. Returning to Miner Street Studios in February 2011 the band and Brian McTear (Mixing) put the final touches on the album. The band is performing in their hometown of Philadelphia, PA on September 24th as a headliner on the Riot Fest at Festival Pier alongside The Descendents, X, Hot Water Music, Naked Raygun and many more.

I wish there were still milkmen. First of all, I constantly run out of milk, and would like not to have to add that to my list of worries every week. Second of all, I think I would greatly enjoy being a milkman. Those cool white getups that match the product, a neat truck to drive around, and porn fantasies come to life.

Admittingly, I hate a LOT of stuff, and I'm an overall negative asshole with some inner "demons" to expel. BUT, I do occasionally sprinkle some nice comments here and there.

Relating to The Dead Milkmen (specifically, this album), don't take my word on whether or not to check them out.
I hate THIS album, and it's the worst album that I've LISTENED to this year. I'm 100% positive it isn't the worst album of the year, because there's a bunch of shit I have absolutely zero interest in, meaning I wouldn't listen to them ("them" being such bands as The Get Up Kids, The Living End, The Swellers- just to name some bands that put out albums this year).
So because I DID have interest in this particular Dead Milkmen album, and I hated it, it's the worst album I've heard this year.

It's definitely one of their weakest releases but in no way a terrible album. Check out the songs "Can't Relax", "She's Affected", and "Meaningless Upbeat Happy Song".

I really do need to see these guys at some point. When i was in jr high The Milkmen were the first punk band i ever got into though i had no clue they were considered a punk band at the time (88-90 or so)

It's a good record. It isn't their best but if you've ever been a fan, you'll enjoy it. I love something about every one of their records. This is no different and I went in wanting to hate it with Dave gone.
