this is irrelevant, but i've been getting annoyed when that old defense mechanism comes up where someone says something like, "Well, if you don't like them/it then don't listen to it." or, "Why are you bashing music that other people love? Don't you have anything better to do?" aaaannnndddd "Yeah, it's not that great, but it's better than most."

A few years back he did some acoustic songs for AltPress which sounded amazing.

So this dude just keeps making new bands to cover his old bands? That's pretty shitty.

I love Streetlight, but they're almost as bad as putting out original content as Reel Big Fish. No wonder they tour together so often.

it's no 'the color fred' but Toh Kay is a PRETTY bad band name in its own right.

I, for one, will happily pay to hear these songs in a slightly different variation for the umpteenth time.

Amazon has samples of the whole album up: http://www.amazon.com/Streetlight-Lullabies-Toh-Kay/dp/B005R2S0FI /ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1319042297&sr=8-3

I saw Tomas play solo at the Arthouse in Melbourne, and he's unable to go through a whole song without fucking up, stopping, and restarting. That said, his fingerstyle acoustic playing is reasonably pleasing to the ears.

I thought that Streetlight Manifesto was the best thing to happen to Ska music since...whatever previous reference you feel like putting in there. But this was a real slap in the face. I've gone to too many of their concerts, bought too much of their merch, and physically bought too many filler CD's to be told "Oh hey guys! We're getting around to that new CD finally after four years...we'll let you know the release date in a year or so...but in the mean time, here's the same songs all over again, but with less instruments!" To top it off, their Facebook has fans orgasming over this news! I get to buy Dear Sergio FOUR times!? I LOVE YOU TOMAS! Ugh. I'm sure when Streetlight's Chinese Democracy eventually comes out I'll love it, but until than, fuck this.

God, now even the ska band vocalists are doing the solo acoustic trend. This needs to stop. Because it's boring.

I actually really enjoy hearing the horn melodies arranged for solo guitar. I find that kind of shit really interesting. |

I love Tomas Kalnoky as much as the next dude (lols), but I'm sick of seeing him not use his awesome song writing ability by doing covers over for the past couple of years. oh well
