I Am War (members of Atreyu, Bleeding Through) signs with Razor & Tie

Orange County, CA's I Am War, a new project featuring Atreyu frontman Alex Varkatzas and Bleeding Through's Brandan Schieppati have announced that they're signing with Razor & Tie. Their debut album is set for release in spring 2012. As for what to expect on the record, Varkatzas says:

"I am personally looking forward to making the most extreme record I have ever been a part of. We are looking forward to creating an album filled with super aggressive, heavy, energetic metallic, raw, punky hardcore. The kind of music that boils your blood and inspires you to get up and move."

I dig it - I always liked Alex Varkatzas' vocals with Atreyu, but the melodic singing of the drummer really put the breaks on a lot of their songs.

I liked both bands before these 2 decided that they needed to sing cleanly. Both are great screamers and terrible singers and since both were leaning further towards all singing and no screaming the last time I had paid attention to either band, I can't see this possibly being worth checking out.

there is an inverse ratio relating how good a band is vs how many adjectives are used in one sentence to describe said band.

"super aggressive, heavy, energetic metallic, raw, punky hardcore," it's like he's trying to convince himself.

As usual with these bands the music is acceptable...right up until the chuggy breakdown. This really bothers me tonally too, which I should've expected from someone who used to be in Atreyu.
