Doomtree producer Lazerbeak plans solo album

Lazerbeak - producer of critically acclaimed hip hop collective Doomtree, P.O.S. and Sims - has announced a new instrumental solo album due out January 24, 2012. The 20-track album is titled Lava Bangers and Beak will perform an opening set on every night of Doomtree's upcoming No Kings Tour.

New plastic constellations would be awesome. probably one of the most under appreciated bands around here.

I'm a little confused. Why wouldn't he have some of the other Doomtree people to rap over this? Do these just sound better as instrumental tracks or is he coming up with songs faster than they can write wraps and this is just an album of the overlap?

I think true musical genius can convey meaning and emoting with no words/vocals at all.

Agreed. I just think it's a bit odd for a dude who has to write so many beats for his group to release a 20 song album without them on it. I mean more power too him and I will still pick this up, it's just a bit weird.

Yeah I get that - It's like he has some of the best lyricists at his disposal yet went instrumental.
