Even other Canadians avoid your island?! That's rough. If it makes you feel better, no one would come to my town if it wasn't half-way between SF and LA, they need to fill time between weekend shows and the valley sucks.

yeah, PEI and Newfoundland miss out a lot, just cause you ahve to take a bridge or ferry to get here. every now and then we luck out, but i usually have to go to New Brunswick or Nova Scotia to see a great show. my local scene succcckkkkssssss

They're my sister's favorite band. I like the music, too. I was only kind of joking because obviously you meant that you don't get many punk-related musicians out your way. No one can deny Great Big Sea's talent.

that's an open-minded and rare opinion! (outside of NFLD, anyway. they're Gods there) and, proving the east coast really is that small, the bass player is a distant cousin of mine. he's from my mom's hometown in NFLD.

I hear ya, I moved from Moncton to Cape Breton like 2 years ago and I have to drive 4-5 hours to catch any decent shows.

holy shit, that's awful. i was in Cape Breton to visit my parents at Xmas. man, that place sure has died since i used to visit there when i was a kid. you guys have the Tom Fun Orchestra though. they're pretty rad.

Hahaha yeah they always put on a pretty great show, but yeah there isn't a punk scene here. I miss the regular Hope, Fear of Lipstick, Varsity Wierdos, Sour Grapes, Motorleague, etc. shows Moncton had to offer. But at least I'll be moving elsewhere soon enough.

So inappropriate.

i seriously am. if you watch the doc "We are the Weakerthans, We are from Winnipeg" you can see me and my brother at the end of the Charlottetown song. they killed that night.

Change "music store in Winnipeg" to "mountain of cash on my own private island in the Pacific," and yes, you're completely correct.

If you live in Winnipeg I think it's a requirement to see him play at a music store at least three times. A few years ago I saw him and Christine Fellows play at Times Changed for the first Nuna fest. So stoked to see him at the WECC next month.

This had me laughing for over 30 seconds. I don't know why.
