not too bad, I disagree with the above them comment. That album has been in my head non-stop since I got it. This felt a bit too 'anthemic' all the way through. I was kinda waiting for the songs to kick up the pace a little, I almost slapped my head with irony when the piano kicks in track 7. Saying that, Im not too familiar with their previous stuff, maybe they come across better live? pretty good though. I have a feeling that this album will prob grow on me the more I listen. Production is second to none.

i think it's a pretty decent album. i know what you mean by 'anthemic' and it's always a thin line if you do that style of slower, melodic punk rock, but it works out for me on this one.

fair comment man. The first song kicks balls. it really does. another few like that and the album would have been amazing for me. add one or two slower melodic ones and the album would be great. but It feels like the whole album is that 'crowd chanting' rock ballad side of punk kinda thing. Don't get me wrong though, its pretty solid. I certainly dont dislike it. I dont even find it medium. Its good. I like taking chances on bands I've not heard and grabbing their record. Some work out really well, sometimes Im a bit disappointed. Like I said though, it will grow on me I'm sure.

I'm really loving the 'anthemic' quality. My one problem is some the slow tempos seem to stop driving forward in favor of singalong parts (like in 'Sat In Vicky Park' when all melody ceases for a simple vocal chant; well intentioned, but it feels like the song has nowhere to go afterwards) I'm loving everything else about this sound.

greatest band. they absolutely destroy it live, see them if you get the chance! album's well worth a buy too, one of the nicest packages i've seen in a long time.
