baldsteve (March 28, 2012)

Anyone been to the MD Fillmore?

canaandrumzz (March 28, 2012)

It just opened, I think its owned by livenation?

baldsteve (March 28, 2012)

Isn't everything now?

dougkatz (March 28, 2012)

you clearly arent from new york

baldsteve (March 28, 2012)

Clearly. Nor would I want to be.

kiraface (kira) (March 28, 2012)

Yes, I've been. It's weird. But convenient to where I live.

baldsteve (March 28, 2012)

I didn't realize you were 'local' to me. The pictures of it look weird. Like a dinner theater.

kylewagoner (March 28, 2012)

I've got little choice, though. Dinner theatre or no Refused?!

baldsteve (March 28, 2012)

Cornish Game Hens, sweet potato dumplings and REFUSED!

I'd buy that limited edition show poster.

kiraface (kira) (March 28, 2012)

It's a totally fine venue. Just real shiny and new. It's no Black Cat, that's for sure. Sounds just fine, but the beers will run you $8.

baldsteve (March 28, 2012)

Not if you smuggle hobo-wine in your tummy.

nphilthy91 (March 28, 2012)

All I know is that it's a mile from where I'll be living this summer and I never thought that I'd be able to ride my bike to a Refused show.

baldsteve (March 28, 2012)

No shit, nobody can pedal 88mph.

thegreatestmanalive (March 28, 2012)

You seem angry at the world. Let's hug it out.

baldsteve (March 28, 2012)

Absolutely. I love hugs.

cpp_ (March 28, 2012)

2 dates in Toronto, thats awesome!

korbendallas89 (March 28, 2012)

This. Going to buy tickets for the Sunday date as soon as they're on sale.

willowrain (March 28, 2012)

when are they on freakin' SALE??? :O

willowrain (March 28, 2012)

ok. ima answer my own question: Friday, Mar. 30th! 12 noon!

Ticketmaster :(

fuck it. It's Refused!

telegraphrocks (March 28, 2012)

July 26th- One of the most overrated bands ever in the worst venue America has to offer.
Should be great.

Mystereohasmono (March 28, 2012)

Only the second half of your statement is true.
Should be great.

jackozord (March 28, 2012)

Well, coming from Indiana for this one... So I doubt the venue could be that terrible in comparison.

telegraphrocks (March 28, 2012)

When you actually hear the sounds in that place, you're going to be fucking pissed.

hercules_rockefeller (March 28, 2012)

Oh yea just wait until 5 teenagers want to gang rape you. That place is so dicey

dX927 (March 28, 2012)

Refused are supporting themselves for half the tour?

welcome_to_1984 (March 28, 2012)

That's how I read it as well.

kneel (March 28, 2012)

i wish this was at 930 or black cat, but i'll take it.

ezeblazin (March 28, 2012)

I don't see why everyone likes the 9:30 Club. The security there are abunch of a-holes... they're always in the middle of the pit being d-bags. And they have a habit of cutting people off for no reason. I'd take the Fillmore over 930 any day.... But I would take Black Cat over either.

Piata (March 28, 2012)

Wonder how much tickets will be for the TO dates.

millman (March 28, 2012)

$38 + $7 fee + $4 shipping for the presale.

skolarx (March 28, 2012)

I think the Detroit date is $29.50 before fees. Way way too much to be honest.

sirsambo (March 28, 2012)

Yeah... I paid a collective $40. But I didn't know OFF! was opening when I bought them, so hearing that made me feel better about myself.

skolarx (March 28, 2012)

Between hating that venue and the price, I just can't do it. If it were at the hall, State Theatre, Majestic, Clutch, Crofoot, basically anywhere but Royal Joke I would think more seriously about it. Last couple shows I saw there (Motorhead and Gogol) both sounded like crap

sirsambo (March 29, 2012)

I know. I fucking hate Royal Oak as a whole, especially the venue. But whattya gonna do?

loki13 (March 28, 2012)

Just realized Black Flag and OFF! are insect repellents. Now if Proctor and Gamble can just finish perfecting Circle Jerk then Keith will have the trifecta!

preston (March 28, 2012)

It's already a good people repellant.

skolarx (March 28, 2012)

I'm guessing you saw the same picture I did the other day of cans of both next to each other. I'd never noticed it before either, although it makes perfect sense

lookingforcorpses (March 28, 2012)

How did people miss that?? He openly admitted that's why he named the band that.

TheDoodlyMan (March 28, 2012)

Cool, I never knew Black Flag was also an insect repellent

baldsteve (March 28, 2012)

Really? How old are you? That seems crazy to me.

TheDoodlyMan (March 28, 2012)

Haha, I'm serious, at least I knew that OFF! was

baldsteve (March 28, 2012)

You're a mess.

TheDoodlyMan (March 28, 2012)

Eh, well can't know everything

baldsteve (March 28, 2012)

Yes I can!

TheDoodlyMan (March 28, 2012)

I believe it

MN_DrNick (March 28, 2012)

They announced the first batch of bands for Riot Fest East. Look who else is playing that first show with Refused and OFF!:

The Promise Ring, Boysetsfire, Gameface, August Burns Red, and Hirs

wafflezombie (March 28, 2012)

Yeah, this news alerted me to the fact that Riot Fest East was happening again, AND expanding to 3 days.

skolarx (March 28, 2012)

It'd be awesome to see Gameface.

Dedricthere (March 28, 2012)

If only Refused refused to show up, I'd love to see OFF! again. I just can't stand this screamo shit.

baldsteve (March 28, 2012)

'screamo'?

Ugh

irish_joo (March 28, 2012)

The title of this article is misleading

24hourpriapism (March 28, 2012)

oh man. refused at the HOB. wow. i dunno. i'd love to see them, just not at the HOB. mideast downstairs, i might sleep overnight behind the bar just to get first crack at tix.

ilikejellolol (March 28, 2012)

I'm really on the fence as well. OFF! was amazing the first time I saw them. Do I really want to pay for an overpriced ticket to see them at a venue where I can't mosh and the sound is terrible?

korbendallas89 (March 28, 2012)

I don't think I've ever been to a show at the Sound Academy yet. Is it a good venue?

BertRacoon (March 28, 2012)

It just may be my least favourite venue in Toronto. But hey, to each their own.

owneroperator (March 29, 2012)

it will be my first show there. considering i'm australian and they will probably never come here i will not complain about the venue after the show.

Piata (March 30, 2012)

Sound Academy is okay. It's a little too big, in a bad location and their tickets are starting to get overpriced.

On the plus side the audio quality is great and it's mostly standing room only.

Heathbar (March 28, 2012)

All these complaints about venues. Slim's is awesome. The City wins again. Take that, other less pretentious parts of the world!

lookingforcorpses (March 28, 2012)

Refused aren't playing there.

Heathbar (March 28, 2012)

Reading comprehension screws me once again. The back-handed "compliment" stands. The Warfield is pretty awesome, too.

lookingforcorpses (March 28, 2012)

The article is worded very poorly. Took me a few passes to realize what was up.

karliscool (March 28, 2012)

Damn I was going to say, Refused at Slim's would be ridiculous. Bummer

loki13 (March 28, 2012)

Don't blame me, this is the link I sent to the Org. It's easily just as confusing. I blame the names of the bands. They don't have a "the" in front...always leads to chaos.

http://www.avclub.com/toronto/articles/punk-supergroup- off-hits-the-road-wait-for-it-with,71593/

lookingforcorpses (March 29, 2012)

It's much clearer there.

lookingforcorpses (March 28, 2012)

Another incredibly misleading headline. Those first dates are just off. Definitely appears like those are Refused dates.

spoon_of_grimbo (March 28, 2012)

Hey PunkNews, thank you for the NNTS link in this news item! if i hadn't clicked that, i wouldn't have known mitch clem was doing NNTS again. if i didn't know that, i wouldn't have checked out his top ten albums of 2011 strips. and if i hadn't done that, i wouldn't have just discovered the awesomeness that is Crusades' "The Sun Is Down and the Night Is Riding In."

baldsteve (March 28, 2012)

"driven" is my favorite song of the year so far.

irish_punk_is_gimmickry (March 28, 2012)

no wisco.....................sigh........................

Papastar (March 28, 2012)

Metropolis? Oh fuck yeah!!!

owneroperator (March 29, 2012)

so i'll be in toronto when this is happening. come find the random aussie guy at the sunday show and say hi.

renton (March 29, 2012)

As a huge fan of the first four EPs I'm kind of disappointed with this new song.

Amoeba (March 29, 2012)

Is this a picture of The Big Bang Theory's cast ?

hercules_rockefeller (March 29, 2012)

1 too many honkies for The Big Bang Theory.

Josiah (March 29, 2012)

fucking sound academy...worst venue in toronto...

Piata (March 30, 2012)

I take it you've never been to the ACC.

tonerrr (March 30, 2012)

OFF! & Refused? This is my ultimate wet dream.
