Anti-Flag: “Virgin Mary, Redeem us of Putin” (Pussy Riot)

In solidarity with the jailed protestors of Russia's Pussy Riot, Anti-Flag has recorded a cover of their "punk prayer" called "Virgin Mary, Redeem us of Putin." The lyrics probably didn't do much to endear the feminist collective to the Russian leader:

The head of the KGB, their chief saint, Leads protesters to prison under escort
In order not to offend His Holiness Women must give birth and love
The Church's praise of rotten dictators The cross-bearer procession of black limousines
A teacher-preacher will meet you at school Go to class - bring him money!
Virgin Mary, Mother of God, put Putin away

The protestors have earned much support from around the world. There was a benefit in Brooklyn, moves of support from European leaders, and a strong statement from European Women's Lobby.

Concerning a similar political personality, Mitch Daniels was just elected the President of Purdue University (my beloved alma mater) by a board of trustess that HE HIMSELF appointed. The bastard has done nothing for Indiana schools as governor but cut millions of dollars in education. To believe that a University so reknowned for its science department has now elected a man who if had continued his campaign for the US presidency probably would have denounced evolution.

How about here in PA our govenor just cut $800 million in education but is giving a $1.65 billion dollar tax break to Shell.

The guy brags about how much he has cut government spending, when all he has ever done is fire thousands of public servants and drastically cut benefits and collective bargaining rights for the remaining employees of the state. Not the mention the quarter of a billion of dollars he "lost track of", and the selling off Indiana toll roads to private corporations, resulting in a loss in federal funding for Indiana interstate road maintanence and construction. The guy is a fucking creep, yet hoosiers are so goddamn conservative and stupid that they refuse to ever to look beyond his superficial friendliness and "working class" persona. And this fuck is now the president of a major university...
