This is a top 3 song on this CD. I thought this new album wasn't as good as They Came From the Shadows, Warning Device, or Total, but it's still really good. It's a weird split; tracks 1-4 are all severely lacking imo, but if you get passed them, tracks 5-14 range from good to awesome the whole way through.

Their cover of the SACK song Headbanger is great. I mean it sounds pretty much identical as the original, but still nice to hear it.

I feel this band really peaked at "Warning Device" and have been on a sharp slope downhill ever since... "They Came From The Shadows" had a few great tracks but overall wasn't very good. I've given "Freak Out!" 2 listens and the only song that remotely hits me as good so far is "Maverick." Don't get me wrong, I still love TBR and have since the beginning but the last 2 albums haven't been as infectiously catchy to me as the others.

I still need to get my hands on this, but all the songs I've heard so far have been great.

The new album is OK. Not as good as Warning Device. Standout songs include; 'Maverick' and 'Never Gonna Tell you'.

Actually one of my least favorite songs on this record, but I don't skip past it or anything. Highlights for me are "Headbanger", "Necrocomicon", "Who Killed Sensei", and the last track "Go with the Flow". Obviously love that they put 2 of the Mutilate Me tracks on here. Overall, good record. As some have already said, not their best effort, but still great IMO. |
