The results for your votes for the best albums of June are in. The newly revitalized Pennywise - who returned to Epitaph Records and recruited Ignite vocalist Zoli Teglas - delivered your album of the month. So the key to topping the list is to have a negative review that leads to upset fans voting extra high out of spite?
Michael_Berryman (July 5, 2012)
weird. Comet, TTTALL, Toys That Kill and The Future of the Left should all be higher.
levidolphin (July 5, 2012)
Ill take a #8.

usapelican (July 5, 2012)
i thought gaslight or future of the left shoulda been fighting for that number one spot
Michael_Berryman (July 5, 2012)
so i've been following the Mars Hill Church ever since that weird Thrice thing, and this is one of the most disturbing facebook posts i've seen lately:

Yeah Pennywise!! Surprised The Hives didn't rank higher though. Where is Riverboat Gamblers latest too?? That album is ridiculously good! Oh and Fuck YOU all who will dissect this because you're too hip for Pennywise!!
hashbrowns (July 5, 2012)
glad to see that Swellers 7" on here. I enjoyed it immensely. I also really like the new MDAM.
GeorgePBurdell (July 5, 2012)
Japandroids is the best album of the year, let alone the month. Get fucked punknews.
coldwaffles (July 5, 2012)
so heres the thing about this list, restorations a/b is not higher than pennywise.
thegreatestmanalive (July 5, 2012)
That future of the left album was so disappointing. There are some songs on the album that are almost unbearable to listen to. I had such high hopes.
justthetip (July 5, 2012)
The Pennywise album isn't horrible, but it just sounds generic. The lyrical content sounds appropriate for a younger band, but not for a band in their forties. A song from this album has come up a few times on my Ipod and I thought it was Pour Habit at first. I don't mind it that much, but If I'm going to listen to a Pennywise album I will go with Unknown Road.
EchosMyron (July 5, 2012)
The user rating average for the Pennywise album is under 3 1/2 stars. How can it be the top-rated release when a bunch of other albums on this list have higher averages?
LAR (July 6, 2012)
I don't know how anyone can hit a punk rock site and not be into the new Pennywise record. If you don't like new PW, you don't really like punk rock.
bobalert (July 6, 2012)
That Hives record blows. Shouldn't even be on the list... unless there weren't enough records to make the list that long in the first place. (:
bongsmcj (July 6, 2012)
well, i recorded this in June. its got to at least be better than The Hives...

I am back assholes, and I have found a pattern with the people who do reviews on this website. I look at their favorite records section and I realized that the editor in chief must drunk or blind when they assign review assignments (if that is the case at all?). If they like Gaslight Anthem, Saves the Day, Lifetime, and or the garbage that as slopped out of Long Island, they have no business doing a Pennywise, Death By Stereo, Bad Religion, or anything else that was huge on this site about 8 years ago. These are the dudes(or women) who make meuse the word CUNT way to much on this site. On more thing FUCK YEAH Pennywise is on top.
greg0rb (July 7, 2012)
I have three, count em THREE reviews on this list. This has never happened, and will never happen again. |
