Media: I Am War (Atreyu, Bleeding Through): ‘Outlive You All’

I Am War, the new project from Alex Varkatzas of Atreyu and Brandan Schieppati of Bleeding Through, have launched a stream of their debut album. The record is titled Outlive You All and is due out August 28, 2012. The band sounds to be a bit of a passion project for the duo, who dug into their hardcore and thrash influences for the record and describe the sound in terms of Cro-Mags, Terror and Exodus.

This is fucking epic. I wish it was dominantly Schieppati vocalizing instead, but Alex surprisingly isn't that bad. He sounds much better here than he ever did in Atreyu, that's for sure.

Bad guitar tone, and two of the worst singers in hardcore/metal. Atreyu was ok for a bit, but Who ever listened to bleeding through anyways? Just a terrible combination.

This sounds like two garbage trucks colliding head on.

Great album by an awesome band. Take it for what it's worth. Not going to blow anyone's mind but I will take Alex screaming over an umpteenth NOFX record any day and besides, I thought I bought the self titled album in 92.
