Guided By Voices are premiering a song from their upcoming album and third release of 2012. The record is titled The Bears for Lunch and is due out November 13, 2012.
Haha, you're welcome! They brought back the "Classic" GBV line-up from the Bee Thousands era and it REALLY shows in the songwriting. Saw these dudes live a month ago and they are still one of the best live bands around period.
Ehh, I don't know if I agree with that. Class Clown Spots a UFO, maybe, but definitely not Let's Go Eat The Factory. I'm a big fan of the Gillard era, though. While I wasn't to fussed on it for the first year or so, Earthquake Glue grew to be one of my favourite albums by them. New GBV has some solid tunes ("Billy Wire" easily ranks among the best of them... possibly their most fun song after "Game of Pricks"), but it's too spotty and bogged down with unlistenable filler (as opposed to the listenable filler found on albums between Bee Thousand and Half Smiles of the Decomposed.) Half of CCSAUFO is pretty great, though. I would recommend that one, although I'm not sure I like it better than the majority of their output circa 1997 - 2004.
That one guy who used to post on Punknews is stoked.
