I've always found this song gloomy. In high school, I once played it for a guy who was into jazz (and I'm pretty sure not very familiar with ska or punk rock), and his reaction was to say, "This is so happy!".

I saw them live with the Mad Caddies and liked what I heard. But then I went to their myspace and didn't like it as much. Still a solid band though. |

They took out all the ska of the original version, which doesn't only make this re-recording infinitely superior, but means that the song is finally a valid contribution to the medium of music in general.
I've always liked every other musical element of the Caddies; I'll toss in a few bucks for a Kickstarter if they plan to remove all the ska elements from their previous records and make them halfway listenable again.
