Milwaukee, WI's Galactic Cannibal, the side project from Direct Hit!'s Nick Woods, have released their debut EP for free download or on cassette for $5. The band is comprised of Woods, his brother, and friends.

I don't get this current cassette tape trend in punk.
I'd rather buy CDs or vinyl if I'm getting a physical copy of something, cassettes sound kinda shitty.

Anyway, this is pretty fun stuff. I think I prefer DIrect Hit!, though.

i don't get it either. i understand going back to LP's but cassettes? come on. who really has a tape player? the last one i had was in an old alarm clock that i literally just got rid off...it was 20+ years old.

With LPs you can at least make a legitimate statement that they sound better than cds. Cassettes always sounded like shit plus they were too easily damaged, though i do miss being able to use them as an ice scraper in a pinch
