"According to http://www.commonrider.com, the band has called it quits. A message on the site states that there was no bad blood, just a desire to move onto other projects."

After how incredible "This is Unity Music" was? Jessie just can't stay in a great band very long, can he?
Someone (March 11, 2003)
sticky_floor says: No way!!! Common Rider was fucking excellent! They were a killer live band too. this blows.
Someone (March 11, 2003)
that sucks. this band was really good. at least we know Lumley is playing in the riverdales now. that guy has been in 5 or 6 different bands, he is a hardworking drummer.
Someone (March 11, 2003)
Can't believe this. Another band that I never got to see. I hope Jessie moves onto another project rather than another absence. Painaxl

Someone (March 11, 2003)
Thank Jebus I saw them on the Plea For Peace. I still haven't forgiven myself for never getting around to seeing At the Drive-In. 6+ Replies

This shit sucks. This sucks as much as me missing out on Strike Anywhere/Explosion tour. I really wanted to see Jesse Micheals live. I hope he has something up his sleeve. Ramo 2+ Replies

Dude, my question is where does it say this on the site. Is my computer gay or something? I don't see it in the news. Help an idiot out. 2+ Replies

I didn't even know Common Rider had a concrete line-up. I thought it was just a vehicle for Jesse Micheals' stuff. Didn't they do a "common rider" release what was with Billie and Jason from Green Day/PinheadGunpowder?? *shrug* I don't think it'll be another 10 years before we see Jesse Micheals again. 1+ Reply

good. now jesse can finally form operation ivy 2! you know that's what jesse was going for in common rider. common rider was such a ripoff of op ivy, jesse was just riding off of one success. 3+ Replies

I ain't waiting another 10 fucking years Jesse. You got to stop doing this to your fans, or else we might not be there when you finally decide to stick with something. I can't help but wonder if this is caused by the passing of Strummer - Jesse's idol? Hmmm... 1+ Reply
RipperWalk (March 11, 2003)
There may be no bad blood between the band members, but what about Jesse's fans, who have waited years to finally see and hear him and now he is gone once again?
Someone (March 11, 2003)
"This is Unity Music" was boring boring. I listened to it three times in a row trying to love it. I was also kind of disappointed by the five minutes I saw them live. Yell at me. So Hopeless is down to how many bands now?
Daegan (March 11, 2003)
GOOD. The only reason anyone gave a shit about this band was because it was "Jesse Michaels' new band". The people on here bitching because people "gave a shit about Promise Ring" are forgetting something: despite one hell of a miss on Very Emergency, Promise Ring made GOOD MUSIC especially on their last effort which was BY FAR the best cd to come out in a long long long long LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time. Common Rider toured a bit and put out a cd that sold a bit and both of them really were generally boring; pretty much like slower Op Ivy. In conclusion: The world is better off without them. 2+ Replies

I can't stand Common Rider. Jesse needs to call it quits for good and get the hell out of the music scene, granted thank you for Operation Ivy, now go away. His lyrics are the same rhetoric that he's been spouting off since his time with Lint and Matt. "This is Unity Music"... give me a fucking break, if your'e going to milk something, milk a cow, not some fucking slogan that is preached by peace punx who don't know anything else to say (that doesn't mean I have beef with peace punx, just a selected few). Besides, Common Rider put on one of the worst shows I have ever seen. Waste of money and time, rather spend 15bucks on a OpIvy bootleg. | Features
