Slowdance Records heads-of-state The Velvet Teen are releasing their new record Elysium on July 20th, and to celebrate, the trio is heading out on the road from the date of the record's release through the end of August. The band is kicking off the tour with a trio of CD release shows, featuring the likes of The Lawrence Arms, A Wilhelm Scream, and Desert City Soundtrack opening, among others. Along for various chunks of the tour itself are Polar Bears, Rescue, Statistics, The Pale, and new VT drummer Casey Deitz's other band The Americas.

That crazy Vasey. He never gets enough.. of... thoses... vases.. ?? And I believe it's just... Polar Bears.... not THE Polar Bears... Polar Bears.... Otherwise you're good. For the record, Elysium is easily a top ten of 2004 album.... easily. Unless youre deaf and enjoy the sound of fingernails scratching things, like chalkboards. 2+ Replies

Oh man, am I glad I moved to Cleveland now. Also, that Velvet Teen/Larry Arms/Wilhelm Scream/Cardinal Sin show is going to be wacky as hell. I wish I could be there. -Scott
