The Explosion have announced their release schedule their upcoming full length and EP. The record, their follow up to 2000's Flash Flash Flash, will be titled Black Tape and released on October 5th of this year. It will be preceded by the previously announced Red Tape EP, which will only be available at shows and online. It features "Here I Am," the single from the upcoming record, along with the songs "Filthy Insane" and a cover of Warsaw's "The Drawback." You can hear the single at the band's website.

The two best bands touring right now both have releases on Tarantula 1)Explosion (I know they own the label STOP TYPING!) 2)Bronx The lawrence arms are a close third-How is that hiatus treating ya? Barkley"Tarantula's Attack!"

apparently there's "no revolution" left in the explosion the label change has killed their sound

In other news, I picked up the Explosion's self-titled EP on Jade Tree for a whopping $2.50 used yesterday. Swank. -Scott

As long as the rest of the cd sounds nothing like the mp3 from last week we'll be alright...I'll just hope for the best

God Willing, The new full-lentgh doesn't sound anythig like that MP3....let's hope it's a one-off thing, otherwise, we'll all have to kick them in the nuts for going to Virgin, and I already have a bad taste in my mouth about that.....

Covering a band that barely played out and went on to change their name and be ten times better? Dumb. -BSD 1+ Reply

You can't expect them to rewrite the written. Personally, I think "Here I Am" is just what The Explosion needs. While Flash Flash and Self titled were amazing, I would be dissapointed if they tried to re-do themselves in their next full length. They do what comes naturally, they don't taint it with what people want to hear. 1+ Reply

the song "here I am" just keeps shocking me. I mean, this isn't the explosion I enjoy so much on "steal this" or flash flash flash. I really don't know what to think or expect for the new album. I guess I'll just buy it and hope for the best.
