Founded in Guelph, Ontario in 1999, the now-Toronto based Constantines have become one of Canada's most respected and acclaimed independent rock bands. The band's music is frequently cited for it's Fugazi influence, albeit tempered by a very Canadian penchant for earthy roots rock (the band has moonlighted as a Neil Young cover band). Primary vocalist Bryan Webb is often lauded with comparisons to Bruce Springsteen and the Clash's Joe Strummer.
The Constantines are now a five piece featuring Webb and Steve Lambke on vocals / guitar, bassist Dallas Wehrle, Doug MacGregor on drums and Will Kidman on keyboards. The band helped launch the now defunct but much lauded Ontario based indie label Three Gut Records and now records for Sub Pop.
