Formed in 1998 in Winthrop, Massachusetts, Unearth joined Eulogy and delivered their breakthrough release, Stings of Conscience. The band sooned signed to metal heavyweight Metal Blade who released their sophomore full length.

In 2005, the band joined Sounds of the Underground, a tour with Atreyu, another with Dillinger Escape Plan, the final tour with Slipknot and many other tours and festival appearances.
