Well, not to ruin the surprise or anything. But the entire EP is one, 18 minute long song. You can chalk this up to one of two
things. Either Fat Mike has decided to become a composer, and write his magnum opus, 18 minutes with consistent themes, complex
orchestrations, or he has a sense of humour. Assuming that it's the latter, I listened to said EP, and it was definitely
interesting. Without a doubt, NOFX has decided that it's so-called maturity on their last two records (So Long... and Heavy
Petting Zoo) was both unecessary, and not very much fun. I agree. Reverting back to the more hardcore-influenced sounds of
Two Heebs and a Bean, and to a lesser extent, S&M Airlines, The Decline is really cool. It's loud, it's fast, and it
doesn't take the time to apologize for this NOFX-born-again sound. Thank god. NOFX is a band I've been listening to for, well,
ever, so the lackluster albums they released recently were a big disappointment. While nothing will probably ever come close to
Punk in Drublic, at least NOFX is releasing a NOFX-album again.
So, without sounding too prententious-reviewer-esque, I'll say this. The Decline kicks ass. Those jackhammer drums we all know
and love are there, Fat Mike's snotty vocals sound like this is his first record, and he loves it, and lest we forget, the
bouncing bass and superfast guitars are there.
Oh yeah, El Hefe still plays his trumpet. But that's ok.
So, those of you without patience are probably wondering when I'll get to the point. Well, it's this. The Decline is an EP
any band could be proud of. And a band with the history of NOFX should be especially proud that they've finally stopped with the
weird-ass experimentation that seemed to drip off recent records, and put out a true NOFX album. So all the rip-off artists that

blows my jocks off every time i listen to it. Adter all these years, this song still kicks ass. the guy below the guy below me is a fuckin douche bag. this songs is prime. no if ands or buts. The guy below me realizes that NOFX has been around in some way, shape, or form since 1983, right? This shit was fuckin' weak. I saw all you assholes praising it so I checked it out on YouTube (someone had made a video for it). It was just a long as fuck cliche punk song. It was terrible. All those that claim to know what punk is probably haven't heard much KBD or unknown punk records records, if you had, you'd probably wouldn't give these dimwit clowns your fuckin' money... suckers! This Is The Best Nofx Song... fuckin amazing!!! One of my my favorite songs... erm.. albums... given the hit and miss nature of NOFX's music I was suprised when I first heard this song. There aren't many songs I can listen to over and over again... let alone there arne't many songs over 5-6 minutes that I don't start to get bored with. This is not one of them. This song kicks the proverbial ass... go listen to it and behold its power. One of the greatest records/songs ever.. Dare i say it fuckign awesome, hated the song at first because my attention span was really lacking back then but giving it a second try was one of the best decisions i have ever mad i don't have the attention span for this. i like my songs 3 minutes tops Best song ever recorded and best song to hear live!! NOFX-at their very best....this is a match for most punk songs ever recorded Yes, the better song ever recorded by a punk band. I agree as well. Fucking marvelous. agreed. probably the best release NoFx will ever have. Best music they've ever recorded. Overrated. A lot like "From the Cradle to the Grave" in that some of the individual bits are catchy but as a whole it doesn't really work. All you people calling this a "masterpiece" need to wake up and listen to some real music. NOFX is a good band, but not a great band. Truely one of the quintisenntial punk songs to listen to. Anyone who hasn't heard it should go out and buy it immediately. Best written NOFX song ever. Second best is "Bleeding Heart Disease". This is the shiznit. Best song ever lyrically, and very good musically. Not a perfect song, but close. Definately a 9/10. If your not listening to the dacline you are waisting my time just picked it up for $6.99 at a small record store, hands down the best six bucks i will ever spent in my life. Just one great fucking song. after 18 minutes i still dont want it to end. nofx have created something brilliant, well informed and lyrically up there with the greatest punk band of all time THE DEAD KENNEDYS. "BlinkFX sucks! (Oh... I mean NOFX)" "BlinkFX sucks! (Oh... I mean NOFX)" God I Love this song I'd personally say it's the best NOFX song I've heard and P.S. NoFx was here way before Blink182 and are a lot better.... One rockin 18 minute long song. this is the best song ive heard in my life! i dont think they could have made it any better. it never gets old and i love it sooooooooooooooo much! NOFX is the fucking best band ever in the world. Nofx has done it again! They have reached punk perfection with this release, along with punk and drublic. With the decline they managed to etch their name into each and every punker's heart. What can i say about the music? The blazing guitar leads, the carefully constructed harmonies with the vocals and guitars, the murderous bass lines, the lyrics, like i said above they have reached punk perfection. This release and punk in drublic put them up in the ranks with bad religion's how could hell be any worse? It's beautiful. THank you nofx for inspiring me to be a punk rocker. I absolutley LOVE this song and LOVE NoFX. This album is pretty good but u get tired of it after a while and plus the guitar tab for this song is too fuckin long Yes, in my opinion this is a motherfucking masterpiece. I swear, best nofx song i've heard. I have had this cd since the day it came out and I still listen to it on a regular basis. fuck yes. i have to say this. It's a trombone, you ass-and the gut from the bosstones played it I have listened to this puppy over 500 times and i still love it. best song...ever. this song is awesome... is the best song i ever heard from nofx everytime that i heard this song it's like getting high... Teh Decline is NOFX's masterpiece for me , the music and the lyrics are A-W-E-S-O-M-E , i don't think someone's gonna make anything better for the next 10 centuries . OK , i know , i am a NOFX fan , but obviously , The Decline must be given to some people as a medecine.. I agree this soung does kick ass but you guys all got the message behind it didn't you? NOFX tells what is really going on, we are in a decline, violence is everywhere, we are insensitive, and brain washed by TV. They are rallying us to think for ourselves, and I find this song to be a "eye opener" so to speak. This album is okay at first, but it gets really old. It should just be 6 or 7 different songs, cause thats what it sounds like. BlinkFX???? hrmmm I dont see how you can even put nofx, in the same league as them damned sellout/posers. They smoked too much dank and forgot there age and asked what it was and suddenly they were famous. But Nofx made a very 1337 song which kicks a lot of ass. Plus they have been around for a while and are still underground, and did i mention they kick a lot of ass?? ohh yeah i did.....anyways i'm not one to tell people what to do, so i won't say what i was going to......but i will anyways incase anywone is curious as to what i was going to and that was STFU!!!! You might have got mixed up and meant, blinkxpx ,sum fortyblink or something like that. Anyways it is a really awsome song, that will never get old. Awsome job on the decline its my favortie song you guys are awsome best punk song ever? sorry kid, i think you missed the 70s/80s. it is extreamly good, though, and worth buying after you download it. apart from punk in drublic, this is the best NOFX song ever written. when it ended i wanted it too continue. theres nothing else to say but: THIS SONG KICKS ASS! this is a damn good song. but i wouldn't say it's the best NOFX song. the damned greatest song ever I downloaded this from the internet like hundreds of punk rock albums, but then I bought this one. Masterpiece? Oh yes it is. This is BY FAR the best NOFX song ever. His voice is the least annoying on this one and it IS an incredibly well written masterpiece. The decline is simply the best punk song ever written!, the first time i heard it i just creamed on my pants,it's an awesome 18min song that simply goes from slow to fast and melodic to hard,it just blows everything away and it's just one of those songs that will be stuck with you till you die!!!,this is a fucking masterpiece!!!!,for eva. INCREDIBLE. Best NOFX song ever. I'm speechless..... I think the EP as absolutly amazing. On a side note, that's not El Hefe with a trumpet, it's Lars Nylander from Skankin Pickle on trombone. I kinda liked the ending. A lot of people hated it but i thought it was an amazing fade with a tremendous amout of emotion. The marching/machine sounds were great, and the way they faded was awesome. The just slowly turned the bass and treble down as they were tuning the mid-range up to give it that AM radio feel which really brought out the "Hells Bell". I listen to this jst about everyday still. Actually this is the first song that made me cry, from happiness... I cry a lot when I'm watching MTV but that's of pain... How can anyone write this kind of great awesome almost poetic lyrics and mix them perfectly to the music? This is the best thing NOFX ever did. It's called an EP, but it's actually a record and their best...This song belongs in Punkrock top 3 i like nofx alot but not as much as i used to. however this is the best song ive ever heard. even if u hate u must give them credit for making such a long song that is still good throughout First Mike releases an album of 101 30 second songs, now its an album of just one very long song... this is the best nofx "song" i have heard to date. and i like this band a lot, so saying that means a lot. Mr. Mike's Opus. This album/song is NOFX. NOFX is modern punk rock. So what if the last bit stinks... actually, el hefe didnt play any kind of 'trumpet' on this album, seeing as though its actually a TROMBONE and its played by Lars of Skankin' Pickle & Less Than Jake fame. (he plays valve trombone and played with less than jake for the 'skank around uranus' tour and was on the japanese import cd of the same name) BlinkFX sucks! (Oh... I mean NOFX) |
