By now, all good hardcore & punk fans are well aware of the stamp that HR, Dr. Know, Daryl Jennifer and Earl Hudson left on the history books. Back in the late 70's the band, then called Bad Brains, began to play a style of punk rock that coined the phrase "hardcore". They played rock n roll faster, louder and with more reckless abandon than anyone else before them. Mixing blazing punk rock and soothing reggae they went on to become legends in the underground scene. Please login or register to post comments. HR is cool.....he's always doing crazy shit. I love the stories about him knocking skinheads out at their shows in the early '80's, great stuff! The name change is cause HR wigged out and attacked their manager who owns the rights to the Bad Brains name, so they had to change it. I'd go see them live if ever given the chance, but I don't think I'd spend money on this. God bless Bad Brains, but sometimes you gotta know when to throw in the towel. I love the Brains and everything, but man, they are way past their prime. Do were really need another live album from them? They need to stop living off of past glories and do something new. why did they drop off the tour they were gonna do with H2O? |
