For a show of this magnitude, to come to Richmond, on the release date of Hot Water Music's new album "Caution”, was enough for me to be walking around with a stupid fucking grin all day. Please login or register to post comments. What are the benefits of having a Punknews.org account?
hey dummy, i really hop hwm headlines the seattle show tonight.... i can't imagine legends such as hwm opening for these new guys in thrice *cough*sellouts*cough.... i hate ppl that headline just cause they signed to a major label. I was able to attend the show in Pittsburgh on 10-17-02. I did not see the first band, but im over it. I was happy that i was able to see coheed and cambria, who put on an amazing show. The band is a little odd but there music is phenominal. Thrice was the down point to the show. I hated it, people were getting out of control punching people in the face(in the pit). There is no need for that shit, there music isn't that moving that you feel the need to punch people. But the best part was Hot water music. I have never been disappointed with them. They played alot of songs off their new album but they played great. yeah, i got to see this tour in chicago and was completely floored. co&ca was suprisingly good, thrice was the best thing i've seen this past year, and hwm was awesome. i'd never seen thrice before and boy was i blown away. Saw this show last night in Minneapolis. C&C were cool, but I swear that the singer looks like one of those shaggy dogs when he sings. The two dark sides of his afro, the ears, the blonde, the face, and the mic is it's nose. It's really amusing. Anyways, I had never heard them before and they are a very strong band, but the vocals were tiring. Hot Water was really good, but surprisingly, it was lacking a bit of energy. Thrice headlined and blew the top off the place. Holy crap, they put on one of the best shows I have ever seen! So much energy and they sounded perfect. Not a person in the place was standing still. Huge pit, frickin awesome, everyone should go out and see this show if you haven't already. Very strong lineup. Thrice headlined the St.Louis show..and like half of the people left. I was at the show in Chicago lastnight, it was really good. All the bands played well, and HWM was awesome. Too bad they didn't play anything old really, just shit off the last 2 albums. I like them, but I wanted more of their older shit. C&C was awesome and whoever says they're emo is a boner. Just wait until you hear it....very "Over the James" ish. Really, really, good. This has nothing to do with your review, but seeing the mention of Richmond VA only bring one thing to mind and that's the new Avail CD!! I can't wait!! Thrice fucking owns! They are one of my favorite bands. To the loser below me, it is awesome how he goes from screaming to his poppy voice, it fits in perfectly with every song and that is what makes them that much more special. It changes the flow, and adds a lot to the band...and hey..if you don't like screaming, then you will at least like half of every thrice song. Thrice is great until the singer starts singing like a pop singer be glad you missed the Start. They suck. a lot. They should do everyone a favor and die. Or at least quit the music business. hot water music is so fucking terrible... i cant understand why anyone likes them... i have always consider hot water music to be the best live band ever. when i saw coheed with from autumn to ashes i thought they gave hot water music some competition. the two together makes up a great tour. just caught the detroit show...thrice owns. so much energy, so much emotion. one of the best live shows i've ever seen. hwm only made it that much better!! i cant believe i got to see those two bands on the same bill again. hum, I tried to like C&C, but damn if that singer isn't the most annoying thing I've ever heard...I swore it was a girl when I heard him too... Sorry guys, but once you get used to C&C's singer's voice, they are very enjoyable, and actually quite hard. Listen to "Hearshot Kid Disaster". That song kills all. I saw them in DC. My opinion was that Hot Water Music had the best set of the show. Coheed and Cambria put on a great show, though I think the other two or three times I saw them before this were better. Thrice were good. I wish they would have played more than the first two tracks from Identity Crisis, considering their latest release was a disappointment to me. Thrice and HWM are sharing headlining spots on this tour. I think its along the lines of HWM headlines on the East Coast and Thrice headlines the West. Kinda makes sense. money is going down for the crows. Thrice is being sold as the headliner in alot of the dates, which is a little annoying. Maybe I drank too much.... just for clarification purposes, i was at the show in richmond and thrice closed with to awake and avenge the dead. If they had played T C it would have been amazing, but they didnt. Regardless they still delivered an amazing set. I got the Crows cd, it is indeed the shiznit. Anyone who sees this tour pick up the cd The Cro(w)s (it's for sale at the shows). They're a Hot Water Music/As Friends Rust side project & it's a great cd. thrice played t&c???? fuck you! i've seen them three times this year, yelled t&c everytime, and got nuthin'! t&c is an awesome song, and the best video game ever! (tony hawk can suck it!) Seriously, how did Geddy Lee find his way into an emo band? Just force yourself to listen to one Rush song right after a C&C song. That is the strongest argument for why a band sucks I have ever come up with. |
