Anyone vaguely familiar with my tastes will know that there is one band that means the most to me. True, I worship the ground the Dismemberment Plan walks upon, and would be more than happy than to be the willing recipient of some sort of abuse from Les Savy Fav's frontman Tim Harrington, but the fact remains, were it not for one very special band, they would mean nothing to me. This one very special band, if you couldn't tell from the very begining, is Q And Not U. Please login or register to post comments. What are the benefits of having a Punknews.org account?
This CD is fantastic. Aw. I love the review on Q. You get a round of applause. Any-who...they rock. Hardcore and a half. The new album will blow you out of the water. ((Shh...I got an early copy cause I've got hook ups in the band)) Make sure you buy it when it comes out. You won't be dissapointed. I promise "I hear all about this band, but have never bothered to check them out. Am I missing something.. .or is it just the same old band?" it's great when the follow up album doesnt sound the same as the previous. you make 2001 seem like such a long time ago... I hear all about this band, but have never bothered to check them out. Am I missing something.. .or is it just the same old band?-BostonMusicGuy that was a really good review by the way "Suddenly, Sonic Youth and The Pixies, previous favorites of mine, sounded old and tired" This kid below must work for the damn magazine. "I think AP is the coolest thing ever, and all the cool kids are reading it. I heard that one time this kid read AP and then he got famous. . ", etc! Shut up! Q and Not U are in the newest Alternative Press magazine, the January 03 one with AFI on the cover. This was my first time reading AP and it is a great magazine. They had stories on Thrice, Thursday, Q and Not U, AFI (of course, they were on the cover), Alkaline Trio, Cave In, Coheed and Cambria, and a lot more. I plan on buying AP mags when i see them, or getting a subscription. Any magazine with AFI on the cover, especially having AFI on the cover for the second time in on year, have to be a great magazine. While I don't like all the bands I mentioned they cover, or all the bands that were covered in the magazine, it's definitely better than Spin, Rolling Stone or any other "music" magazines. They also had some tid-bits on upcoming movies like the two Matrix movies coming out in 03. Definitely check out this magazine. I love this cd. Too bad Farquet is no more. But still, these guys rock. you're right. this review IS better than the one i wrote. kudos. |
