Band is good, review is too harsh in my opinion. Deserves at least a 5. I can't believe some of you placed Saturday Supercade in the same league as bands like Simple Plan and Good Charlotte. Maybe it's because I'm from Cincinnati, but I happen to really like Saturday Supercade, and I thought that this album was an excellent creative record from a band that has been at it for so long. I think the guys in this band are extremely talented musicians and excellent people by anyone's standards. I think you may have misjudged the album. The only sad thing is, is that this band broke up and left Cincinnati in need of another leader in its far from cohesive scene. heh. "by name dropping the velvet underground." Hmmmm.....I agree with the comment about militants being assholes, but I still think the band's SOUND is too generic, even if OTHER albums had good lyrics. NOFX has great lyrics, but their sound is tired to me. Don't you say "Nice Try" when someone is wrong? I guessed correctly, therefore that comment doesn't apply here. as a matter of fact i was, so nice try asshole What are you, PR for this band? One, most of you probably don't know this, cause you all seem to know shit about the band and are too consumed with talking trash, that this band has broken up as of four months ago. Two, if you actually bothered to check out the band, their history, their back catalogue, you might fucking see that this is not the generic pop=punk that you all want it to be so you can trash it. Yes, the production leads you to believe so as it is extremely polished for a supercade album, but the lyrics have a wit and sarcasm to the, and a sincerity that only supercade can write. If you fucking bothered to check out "A study in adult Contemporary Punk Rock"(their first album on red leader records) you may fucking see what i speak of. With songs like, "Penny is an anorexic", and "Nostalgia isn't what it used to be" you'll see how they can provide a good social commentary with an attitude all their own. I think supercade would say it best to all you fuckers, "Because if you think being militant it helps, to bring peace to a fucked up world, well your wrong and all it does is spread more hate and makes yourself look like the biggest asshole around." Have a great day and learn how to actually look in depth at music and appreciate it, instead of just trashing something you know absofuckingloutley nothing about. too funny! he's trying to compensate for buying this cd by name dropping the velvet underground. dude, you posted anonymously, cut your losses. This comment board just provided me with 15 minutes of fun. sickboi and whats his name... the guy that bought the album after hearing how bad it was... made me laugh more than not. I mean sickboi trying to tell him that drug problems are not a crime... haha classic. (I agree that they are a health problem but come on... to say its not a crime.........). Some people are just really dumb and this band shows just how dumb some people can be. Along with Simple Plan, Allister, The Starting Line, NFG (sometimes), Good Charlotte (new album), and every other band on Drive thru (save Rx Bandits and Finch). And that guy below who made up a generic nfg, allister simple plan whatever lyric I do have to tell you that you were wrong when you said that it could be blink too. Blinks lyrics hardly ever are about girls... sure some are but there are millions of bands that sing about girls... its the easiest thing to sing about. Blinks lyrics have a little more substance to them than the rest of these morons. OK Im done being an idiot now.-BostonMusicGuy Most homeless people are mentally ill, it's a fact just so you guys know. Also, buying a CD without checking it out first is kinda stupid, but to make all these comments about how stupid it is, that's pretty retarded in itself. Oh yeah, this band sounds like a million other bands and all those bands suck. Its not like it cost me anything. All I did was go down to CD Shoppe and bribe my friend into letting me take some free shit. I got The Untouchables, Velvet Underground, and Television, then I saw the "Saturday Supercade" when I was in the Ss looking for Sham69s' new comp and thought "It might be good for a laugh". I think all Pop Punk is funny, especially the kind that isnt trying to be. Sorry to offend about the homeless guys, but I just didn't feel like giving you a serious response. This IS the internet, you know. That guy below has too much extra cash. He went and bought thjis just to see if it was this shitty? Can't you thing of a better way to waste $15? Take a homeless guy to lunch, or get a bottle of liquor, hell, buy a good jazz album, or maybe some Sinatra. But to buy and album just to see if it sucks...idiot. Because its more fun than doing work. uh... i think that guy who bought the cd was stupid, but if the message board didn't make you mad, why'd you make a reply to his stupid comment, sickboi? You're kinda funny. Oh, wait, that was an attempt to be witty, right? Awww, how cute. I'm not gonna get mad for your retarded comments because unlike some folk, I can acknowledge this is only a message board. Keep up the good work champ, that raise is just around the corner. "Why don't you wake the hell up and realize that there is a world outside of what mommy and daddy provide you." "You couldnt defend your inexplicable bad taste, so you attacked what I said." Yeah, evey homeless guy i meet is happy to eat my food. That guy is probably some rich kid who laughs at the poor and thinks he's cool cause his parents bought him a new car. Fucking pussy. If you wanted to see if this album sucked then fucking download some mp3s, don't buy it. Anyone who buys an album without checking it out first is a fucking moron. Even people who don't "believe" in downloading music would agree. I mean, why should a band be able to capatilize on you buying a shitty ablum just to see if it is "that bad". I'll download mp3's and then if I like it I'll buy it, anyone who has a computer and doesn't do that is a fucking retad. the person below me is an example of everything that is wrong with society "That guy below has too much extra cash. He went and bought thjis just to see if it was this shitty? Can't you thing of a better way to waste $15? Take a homeless guy to lunch, or get a bottle of liquor, hell, buy a good jazz album, or maybe some Sinatra. But to buy and album just to see if it sucks...idiot." Aw, I was referenced. :) That guy below has too much extra cash. He went and bought thjis just to see if it was this shitty? Can't you thing of a better way to waste $15? Take a homeless guy to lunch, or get a bottle of liquor, hell, buy a good jazz album, or maybe some Sinatra. But to buy and album just to see if it sucks...idiot. great review. but the most stupid of all these poppunk bands (i even like some) must be Simple plan, i mean "this is who i am and this is what i like, gc, sum and blink and mxpx rocking my room", someone please arrest that guy. "My girlfriend left me im so sad, please come back, don't make me sad.....without your love im nothing, oh, feel sorry for me I'm white, middle class and I just lost my rich girlfriend....shes sleeping with my best friend.....oh boo whoo." Generic new found glory, simple plan, allister, blink, saturday supercade lyric. I didn't think it was that bad but yeah its basically another pop punk band...can't get enough of that turd music. Great review Kirb. I watch Sabado Gigante and Super Sabado Sensacional and Don Fransico is more punk than the 'Cade. I didn't think anyone would like this review, but my brother and I thought it was neat so I submitted it. The name of the show is Sabado Gigante..And from the sounds of this review the album is a pile of mierda gigante. Great review though. I hate to say this, but I went out and bought this CD after reading the review just to see if it was THAT bad. Sadly, the review is right-on. This band is every shitty pop-punk band rolled into one big turd burrito. And you can quote me on that. sorry, i meant to put mest and slick shoes instead of putting mxpx twice. too bad youre calling a band unoriginal when they have been doing it for quite a bit longer than all the pop-punk bands today. they DONT sound like mxpx, they DONT sound like mxpx...to me they sound like the starting line with gruffier vocals. actually, the starting line sounds like them with gruffier vocals. if you like pop-punk stuff, get this cd. this review is stupid. and by the way, RIP to the cade. Fantastic. The review, I mean. Great review. On a side note, this bands name reminds me of theat show on telmundo, what is it sabado superdo? Ouch, brutal. I didn't think the album was *this* bad... |
