The Jealous Sound is the new (well, not really anymore) band for Blair Shehan, lead singer/guitarist of Knapsack. Knapsack was one of my favorite bands, but also it was another band that I discovered too late. When I bought their last, great album, they had already broken up. Luckily, Blair has given me (and I'm sure many other fans) a second chance. The Jealous Sound's 5-song EP is nothing short of spectacular. Blair's distinct and intensely emotional vocal style shines over 5 very excellent, yet different songs. Please login or register to post comments. I've known about this ep for a while and it's taken me far too long to actually pick it up. Like any adept pirate, I have heard many a good Jealous Sound on the DL (download)...I hope that someday, very soon, they release a full length album. I purchased my ep for 10 dollars; and I hardly think that 2 bux per song is a wise investment. Oh well, it still kicks donkey. i wasn't overwhelmed by goodness thoughts listening to this the first time and i haven't given it another listen yet. but i like it and look forward to more releases by the jealous sound. "his whispering sounds like he wants to touch your little brother's balls...yet I can't turn away." haha oh dear, definitely in my top ten review comments ever. i actually like the jealous sound much better than knapsack. the music's been done before, but blair's voice adds a nice twist to it, making it highly enjoyable. Full length comes out in April. if you don't like this ep, you should die a horrible death when's the full length comin out? i'm dying of anticipation after this tease of an ep! This is one of those albums I feel dirty for liking. Shameless emotive, his whispering sounds like he wants to touch your little brother's balls...yet I can't turn away. This band is so good. Eh, this EP is okay. |
