I first heard Plan A Project a while back when I caught a song of theirs on one of the Positive Youth comps. I though Jim Crow was a decent song and the lyrics brought to mind Op Ivy. So being an Op Ivy crank, I ordered their album Spirit of a Soldier. I enjoyed the album because it felt sincere and honest to me. “Spirit” had great lyrics on unity and they didn’t get carried away with any flash or polish, it was just a straight up good punk rock CD, no pop, ska or overproduction, just good punk rock. So when I saw a banner up at Will’s I got excited that I would get to see a good rock band at a great venue. Please login or register to post comments. Yeah Orlando shows can be pretty scarce at times, but alot of the time its because most of the kids live out in the newer parts (like me) and its hard to get downtown to the Social/Backbooth area or Will's. And most of em don't drive because the FL driving tests are a cunt. Not to mention people here are a bunch of jaded scenesters. At least bands come through here though, I came from a small town up north so I appreciate all the bands comin out either way. Good review, good band, read my stuff in the next In Theory magazine.-----Ryan T. Murphy good ol' punk show...good for the soul These guys played long Island a few months ago. I think there was like 12 people at the show, and they kicked my ass along with the 11 others who were still there (4 of the 12 were in six gun radio who also played and are also incredible) This band defintly has heart and everytime I see the singerguitarist he always rembers me from the LI show and we always strike up convos. And to make it better, I've seen him at both Dillinger Four shows here in NYC, proving that they are d4 fans. That can't hurt them. This band has a lot of heart and it shows when they play. great band. |
