The New Bomb Turks are probably the most rock'n'roll punk band I've ever heard. The only true way to describe this release is that it is punk rock, at it's grittiest and best. The New Bomb Turks show that you don't have to have big production or anything to make a good release. The sound on here sounds like a demo tape from a garage band straight from track one, and it just adds to the imagery of these guys rocking out live in my mind. They have a lot of power, and they play it like they mean it [which might sound stupid, but consider how many bands nowadays really don't care all that much about their lyricial or musical content]. I had never really experienced the New Bomb Turks before now, but after this, I definitely want more. So in closing, if you want the rock, you want the New Bomb Turks.

First five songs are really great stuff, but then it simmers quite a bit until the end. It's fast and loud, but there are a number of tracks that just don't gel. This is probably my least favourite NBT album. It's not terrible, it's just not that solid.

if you like the turks, be on the lookout for the Bleeding Hearts. They are a punk n' roll band from the huntington wv/ashland ky area and simply rock. they sound alot like the turks, but with songs like "fuck my neighbors" you cant go wrong. they put on a helluva show too, no matter if they're playing to 10 or 100. they are true punk rock. turks rock too.
