This Afternoon hail from Syracuse, NY, and most of it's members already had musical experiences prior to this. Having released a debut album independently to much acclaim of local media has earned them a place in the top ten of releases for that year, a first time ever for a band in the punk genre. The follow-up to that debut album was a 4 song counting ep released through a small indie label in limited amounts that sould out completely in a matter of weeks. This very release was produced by none other than Chris Gibson (Glassjaw, CIV, Agnostic Front, ...) and mastered by Alan Douches (Saves The Day, Promise Ring, Snapcase, SOIA, ...) and is bound to weave another succesfull chapter to their careers. the dead boys are not "supposedly 'classic'", they are classic To the guy who asked about the Dead Boys review: I'd bet you've never even heard of the Dead Boys, and if you have, you'd know that they deserve for a review to be posted about them as opposed to this trash. Yes, trash. I've heard this CD, and there is nothing original about it. do people really cry when they listen to a CD?? I don't get all this commotion. There are tons of cd's that had 2 reviews on this site, and yeah most of them are from bigger well known bands, this time it's from a smaller band.....sooo what? What ever happened to my Dead Boys review, Scott? Not to say this site is totally inept, but why do we need two "This Afternoon" reviews and not one review of the Dead Boys' first album? haha, no man, I want another one :-) Why do we have two reviews of this album? One is enough. Lol, i wans't trying to change your mind about this album, just wanted to give a second opinion. Eh. I still stand by my review. |
