According to Merriam Webster's Dictionary, there is no such thing as a "gamit." Does this mean that the band that has had their songs lodged in my head for the past few weeks is merely a figment of my imagination, and I will never get to see them live? I sure as hell hope that's not the case, because this band rocks. Hailing from Denver, Colorado, this three-piece is doing quite the fine job of putting the "rock" back in "punk rock." They have a good blend of Green Day, Weezer, and The Queers as well as insightful lyrics and kickass musicianship. In short, it's really, really good stuff. If I could find my thesaurus, I'd rave even longer. Anyways. Standout tracks are: The CD ends with a silly elevator muzak track which ironically makes you want to get back in the elevator and go up and down with the Gamits all over again. Jump on the bandwagon now, before they're huge [and they will be, mark my words]. MP3 Sorry Song [taken from A different kind of greatness webzine] Please login or register to post comments. These guys to me are the kings of all that is pop punk. 15 Minutes tells it how it is in the music biz. It almost makes me scared. I love this band. They're just so fun to listen to. Good cd. Well, I saw the gamits again on saturday. They actually have a new bassist now, I didnt know that. They'll be touring Europe for a few weeks, and I'll missem. Great show, they had a couple hotties dancing up on stage during "last of the mullets". What a great time. Seriously now, if you havent seen these guys live, or listened to them, you need to. You're all missing out. Great band, incredible live. I live near Denver kind of, so I've seen these dudes twice. Love this album. Songs 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9,10, and 11 are just wonderful. I REALLY like 8 too, so I thought I'd better put it in its own place. I'm sure I'll get to see them again, so when I do, I'll tell you how it goes. Songs 2,4,6, and 10 are my favorites. |
