To be completely honest, when I first heard this album, I was not sold. I immediately labeled it as another pop punk band, trying to fit the formula and hope to catch on and make it big. But the more and more I listened to “Two Lefts Don’t Make a Right . . . but three do” the more I began to like it. I LOVE JESUS LOVERS THAT FUCKING CUSS! u know what? he's probably soo fucking proud of us um... i wasn't circumcised but i'm a girl... do i have to f*c* a duck? i really agree with the person that would rather support limp bizcut this cd rocks... in love with the 80s is the first song that i ever heard by rk and that was the beginning of my f-ing ridiculous obsession. Relient K - Mmhmm you so called "Christians" make me sick you are tarnishing the name of Jesus. I will sooner agree with the limp bizket listener listed before me than with you. Christianity isn't about rubbing your salvation in someone else's face. It is about saving the lost and how do expect to do this by giving them the finger, and cussing at them (wich also sickens me) do you honestly picture jesus laughing and pointing as someone is damned to spend eternity in hell I am purely disgusted at you. To begin, I have heard some of Reliant K's stuff and on whole it's pretty good. What I would like to ask is how any of the assholes that commented on this band based on their religious beliefs can even call themselves punk. Isn't the punkrock culture about doing your own thing despite what the rest of the world says? Furthermore, the radical views expressed on this page are ridiculous, if you do not like a particular group because they have descriminated against you or someone you know why the hell would you turn around and do the exact same fuckin thing to them? That, in my mind, puts you in the same grouping. So, to the haters I say this, take your bigoted single-mindedness elsewhere because it has no place in punk! Go listen to Limp Bizcut, assholes. Heard this cd at my friend's house and I have to say that his is one of the worst bands I have ever heard. I can't believe he even bought a cd like this, I'm still making fun of him for owning it. They sound like all the other whiny pop punk pussy bands. They totally just owned you Satan-lovin' idiots. The bottom line: Relient K is a top notch band. They have really good sounding stuff; especially on their newest album, "Mmhmm". If you can't understand this, you don't know what music is. The punk bands that most of you probably like(Blink, NoFX, Sum41) have the crappiest music... I'd rather listen to country than that noise pollution[and that's quite the insult]. You know what I think? I think that you're all against Relient K simply because they're a Christian band. In the words of Jack Black, "It's a beauty contest! They weren't even listening to the music!" If you don't agree with the words, FINE. You have the right to your opinion. But if you know anything about music, you can't tell me that Relient K doesn't have some good-sounding stuff...cuz' they really, really do. JESUS ROCKS!!! mmhmm. right. all of you may say what you like about christain bands, and all sorts of stuff like that, but yah know what, that YOUR OPINION as well as this is mine. personally, this album was very very inspiring to me. that may not be your case, i just hate it when ppl dont get that its entirely thier opinion. I have so much respect for Reliant K for mixing up their albums and have some Christian-based songs on there. It would be so easy for a band to change what they really want to do in order to make money or gain fame. But the Christian-based songs make them somewhat different. They're really great wordsmiths; they're fun and peppy; they make me happy. But I think that people really need to listen to this CD straight through about 2 or three times to really get the whole effect. It doesn't hit right away. hey all you jesus bashers, God died for you, and your attitude saying he sucks or whatever, is sending you to hell. your comments are sophomoric, stupid, and extremly immature. Saying I dont like this band is ok, thats all you have to say. Basicly, you suck, God rocks, give god a oppertuinity, and he will accept you, or you can get ready for a nice, hot, burning hell. Good Lord. Its really funny to me that this is a site that meant for talking about music and all anyone talks about is religion whenever a "Christian" band is being reviewed. Thats pretty lame. To the person who wrote the long piece on religion below: within the bounds of Christianity what you said is correct. I would like to point out, however, that just because somebody is not a "saved" Christian does not mean that they do not understand living in a peaceful and nonconfrontational way while still maintaining their values (how about Gandhi?). Also, make fun of logic all you want, but science has helped humanity far more than spiritual study ever will. I understand religion(yes, other religions are not too different from your precious Christianity) and it's a mindset which can be virtuous but is often FAR too self-righteous to me. Remember you bear the burden of proof for everything you say, and that's why I am an agnostic. Prove God exists why don't you? Yea, Christianity, when done correctly, is great. Jerry Falwell and all those other idiots are jacked in their minds and interpretations. They try to justify thier personal beliefs by taking Bible verses out of context. It's really ridiculous and makes "Christianity" look terrible. Christianity can be a positive thing if utilized by someone with an open mind. Fuck off, you pussies!" you know, back when i was really starting to get into punk, consciously seeking out punk bands and shit, you know, when napster had just been born and 45 minutes to download one song was "fast", i downloaded a little MXPX. i hated it. it sounded generic and boring. i still feel that way. now i know why. i've never heard this band, btw. Haha...Satan does rule. No one should like Christian music for being Christian either. theres a difference between christian bands like mxpx and christian bands like this one. i bought one of this band's old cds by accident, i wanted to slit my wrists when i started reading the lyrics. especially since i'm a reform jew. i have no idea where the cd is now. all i remember is that one of the songs had a killer intro, but that was about it. Hey buddy, we don't like christians (like george w. Bush) for a reason: because 99% of them are jackasses who are trying to save the world by preaching their retarded bullshit but end up racist, sexist, homophobe assholes. Except the girls usually arent sexist, they're just the other two. And they vote conservative. Yuck. Kapeesh?? HAHA, yah on the back of every single Atticus and Famous Stars and Straps T-Shirt is the message "By wearing this shirt I am a hardcore punk" I would crash my car into stuff if this shit was playing in the stereo too. the only good real pop punk band is Homegrown Okay. I admit, I own this album, but have yet to actually sit down and listen to it. The last couple Relient K CDs are good pop-punk, but as the Descendants are pop-punk, not Simple Plan pop-punk. When most think of pop-punk, they think of Blink and Simple Plan, i.e. very watered down "punk rock". On the other side, Relient K doesn't claim to be "hardcore punks" as do the members of Blink, etc etc. Personally, this album is kinda mellow, which upset me. I don't appreciate all the acoustic slow songs. And so what if they are a Christian band, or a band with different believes. Isn't punk about accepting the outcasts? It shouldn't matter whether they are Christians or not. People spend time saying "I'm not prejudice against blacks, Jews, etc. but then they go and hate Christians". But that's another topic all together. To sum it up, a merely OK album. The junior high kids like it, so I stay away. I don't care that they are religious, unless of course they try to force their views down my throat. I also don't care if they are pop-punk. My beef is that the music purely sucks asshole. Thats it. The key to musical taste is a wide variety of genres, but then of course you come along to hear this band and the crap they put out. I almost feel sorry for them cause even though they are prolly excited as hell about their new cd, deep down they most likely know its pure shit. If any of the band members read this..I'm sorry your new cd is quite possibly one of the worst cd's ever produced. This shit is fucking awful. i could hear jesus nailing himself to the cross after listening to this. and it's only the second day! I'm all for respecting other's religions, but I'd feed these guys to the lions any day. "this is would happen if mxpx and New Found Glory had love children......." this is would happen if mxpx and New Found Glory had love children....... Definately pop-punk. And they are Christian. I go to a Private school, and all the kids listen to them there. A bunch of preps, but still... catchy stuff. It gets into your head and lays it eggs,(like an earwig!), and you have to listen to them to get it out... but their 2nd albums were better. Jesus H. Christ Preston Esq. - at least get the album title right. Relient K is one of the more respectable pop-punk bands out there. I don't have this album yet, but I did enjoy their last album, "Anatomy of the Tongue in Cheek." Nice lyrics, punchy guitars, solid power pop. Sadie Hawkins Dance is a fun as hell song, its not really ment to be serious. I'm pretty sure they're a Christian band, too. these guys smell....like Simple Plan part deux 1st and foremost they tried to name their album a witty little title but they totally fucked it up... the saying goes, "Two WRONGS don't make a right, but three lefts do!" It's worse than my girlfriend who can't tell a joke to save her life. Sheesh. get it right or pay the price... are those the real lyrics? cause goddamn they are bad, i bet jesus gets real pissed that all the good bands are down with satan and he gets left with this whiny crap just listen to the song "sadie hawkins dance" PURE CHEESE i haven't heard this CD but to the kid who wrote the lyrics to the Sadie Hawkens Dance, I don't think that song is on that CD. Not saying anything good about this band tho... hahaha...those lyrics gave me a good laugh. Jesus, of course it was a girl writing this review..."his voice sounded youthful and pure" I can't believe you actually gave them a good review. This is one of the worst cd's of all time. To actually say that the lyrics are good is a joke. "Scan the cafeteria for some good seating Actually, I think they pretty much cut out all the religious references on this album. Their first album had a bunch of praise stuff on it, the second one not that much, and this one I think is pretty much completely devoid of it. The songs are solid, witty lyrics, and it's a really catchy album. I don't go to church and I can still like them. i'm asuming this is religeous pop punk? if so count me in!!!! a car crash ain't nothing without neon colors. "Jesus is lame." Jesus is lame. Not that all Jesus-punk is lame, but this particular Jesus-punk is lame. I haven't heard the album, but I do have some other Relient K stuff and do enjoy listening to it from time to time. They are witty and funny, even though they are pop punk. Review kinda sucked. the name of the album rules... Your first impression was correct, just another pop punk band, and a bad one at that. The album art is a neat idea, but from the songs I heard, it didn't seem like anything special. All I remember is that it was average. Marilyn Manson ate my girlfriend. |
