Out of all the majors out there pilfering the indie scene for the next big thing [or at least a decent-sized cash cow to tide over their boss], Island is one of the few that actually seems to have their collective shit together. This compilation, billed as a rarities collection, seems to be Island's way of saying "who's got the talent now, bitches?" Please login or register to post comments. make love not war http://www.los-angeles-casino.com/lanir/casino-directory-2005.htm l somewhere, there exists a list of things that just should never be done in order to maintain cosmic balance Yeah, "Clockwork" is re-recorded. From the first 30 seconds it sounds just as good anyway. This score is for that song. "I called Dreamworks today to inquire about the new signings, had a vey pleasent chat with the head of A&R I called Dreamworks today to inquire about the new signings, had a vey pleasent chat with the head of A&R scatter the ashes is terrible "Hey asshat, it's Samsonite, in case you were having trouble as well..." so this means fall out boy signed to island Scatter the Ashes doesn't sound so much like the Used-lite as they do a mix between AFI and Glassjaw. I think most people have either made or agreed on the latter comparison. Hey asshat, it's Samsonite, in case you were having trouble as well... "Dreamworks have already made money on the JEW deal... Dreamworks have already made money on the JEW deal... that thursday song on there is one of THE WORST songs i've ever heard. ever. how can you people listen to that guys voice?? honestly, the falsetto stuff is unbearable. "With all the hype surrounding Thursday and Thrice and Island spending hundreds of thousands dollars on marketing and promoting these bands, I'll bet the farm that neither band will soundscan they have other ways of making money on bands. Major label math is funny like that. Well slap my ass and call me Shirley, there IS. Never mind my comment about no CKY track. With all the hype surrounding Thursday and Thrice and Island spending hundreds of thousands dollars on marketing and promoting these bands, I'll bet the farm that neither band will soundscan Island seems to be decent. I mean for a major they have cred. They seem to treat the artists well and they have a good line-up. Go island. Oh, and it's Marley's label. If that's not jam I dunno what is. The score is for Mr. Bob Marley, and not because of the pot thing. they don't even let you stream the entire thing. that's funny. I'm #3 !!! SO PFFT !!! I can't believe no Elvis Costello or Rival Schools, and I'm almost disppointed at no Ash song. Also, doesn't it seem weird that there's no CKY or Sum 41 tracks ? They are after all 2 of the bigger bands.... "Clockwork" was on the split with Slick Shoes that came out a few years back. The 3 original songs APO contribute to that split make it one of my favorite splits ever, if only for their side. I love those songs to death. Wonder if this version is re-recorded, I'll have to stream and check it out... |
