This is the best punk album of the year. Period. It blows my mind that this band actually managed to get even faster and heavier without sacrificing those delicious riffs and melodies. I like that the lyrics have gotten more mature (this does not mean that they lost that trademark asshole attitude. Trust me, catch them live after a few brews) and I must say that I'm impressed with Todd's ability to bust out those screams. Nice to hear him finally on a studio album.

Faster. Heavier. Smarter. Plus hours of socio-political reading and multimedia from some of the most dissenting bastards on the continent. Why won't it let me post six stars?

Oh, and P.S: I'm a moderate fan of the Weakerthans, but you could count my praises for thousands of years that those cheesey songs with John singing (you know the ones) are finally gone.

I guess Propagandhi has become the most influencial underground rock act of our time.

    My Score:

Unbelievable album easily one of the most politically fueled CD's that you'll ever hear. They rip through these 14 tracks starting strong and finishing stronger. The end of "Purina Hall of Fame" shows that these prarie kids know how to lay it down. I would still have to say "How to Clean Everything" is still my fave but shit.... that's one of the first tapes I ever owned....yeah that's right I said tape.

'Lost their humour'? For fucks sake, "take back your Amy Grant mosh crews" is a line on the album! (By the way, I'm not giving it an eight because I don't like it, but because it's a pretty fucking high character for any record. 9 and 10 are for the really, REALLY flawless and perfect records. Which, you know, comes around every 9th years or so.)

Excellent CD, fabulous band. Without a doubt the best punk-rock album of the 21st century so far.

I don't understand why Propagandhi felt the need to attack the punk scene in back to the motor league. I like this cd, but those lyics just trouble me. Its almost as if they're punks in denial... I think that they don't quite measure up to bands like Anti-Flag and Rage Against The Machine as far as politics go...

You act like the scene HASN'T lost almost all of it's credibility in the past four years. And besides, Chris and Jord are speed metal fans. Remember?

Oh, and Anti-Flag and RATM are trash. You disgust me. I bet next you'll be saying that Rise Against is the greatest political band of our time.

Propagandhi is a fucking amazing band. I bought this cd near its release date and i'd just like to say I probably haven't listened to it as much as I thought I would. It's not all my type of music. Propagandhi is totally an agressive band that knows what the fuck their talking about. Certainly, this is not Anti-Flag. Most of the cd seems to stray away from the sort of intro/verse/chorus/verse etc. shit and takes on its own form. Its the kinda thing I just listen to and usually sit drooling with a blank stare while slowly scratching my head afterwards. Yeeks.. :O

    My Score:

This is by far my favorite Propagandhi album. For me at least the lyrics and music in the earlier albums didn't quite line up. The message was angry but the music was bouncy. The harder sound to this one helps the whole album seem more authentic. Not typically being a fan of the harder style it took a while to really ger into some of the tracks but in time they clicked for me and in the end make this album a much better one.

Lyrically this album is also far better. Albright Moment, Ma Kate, and Motor League seem much more personal, as if you're listening to a friend relating a story rather than a professor lecturing on Empire.

Gone also are some of the more gimmicky songs like Message from Shell, Ska Sucks, The Only Good Fascist and I Want You to Want Me. I suppose you could argue this takes some of the fun out of the albums but I feel it makes the albums more cohesive.

Best album of the year so far. Didn't think so at first, but I don't think I've ever had a CD grow on me this much (except maybe Foreword, but that's a different story). Hasn't left the first slot of my CD wallet since i got it in march.

John is a great singer/songwriter, but doesn't fit in with propagandhi. The Weakerthans are a much better fit. Congrats on the Juno nomination a while back, & good luck to them in the future.

I thought it was one of their strongest albums lyrically, but musically I prefer the older stuff. Its still a great album, probably one of the best of the year.

    My Score:

I think that this cd was already reviewed but anyway...I like this band too much to say anything bad about them but that multimedia on cd is nothing like i've expected. The band talking is fine, but so called politics is more like an introduction to politics to junior high school students. Some songs are just amazing like: Todays empires tomorrows ashes, back to the motor league, ladies night in loserville and bullshit politicians.Others kick ass too. Somehow deep down i'm dissapointed i really, lyrically some songs could be better.I think that less talk more rock was much better lyrically in most of the parts. Still, this is my favorite cd this year, and you should check it out, and hear something useful.
