Epitaph Records -- Millencolin

Punk just refuses to die quietly for some people. I had a pretty huge Misfits/Black Flag/Circle Jerks/Rudimentary Peni/Flux of Pink Indians era in my life, but to me, it’s over. O.v.e.r. Places like Gilman Street were once breeding-grounds for Green Day, the Mr. T Experience, and Pansy Division. Now they just encourage the recycling of a style that glorified dying young. Dying young! Hahaha. John Lydon (AKA the Sex Pistols Johnny Rotten) is a middle aged guy living at the beach in California (down the street from me, actually), and now enjoys suing people on television. Looks like one of the original voices knows the shit's dead.

The Nerve Agents just don’t…care. They’re gonna swab on the mascara, and sing about how screwed-up life is in Portland, Oregon. You see, it’s “punk” to hate stuff. It’s also “punk” to have these faux macho photos of your band rocking out at Gilman, or some place that looks strikingly similar.

Nowadays, punk bands make a living hating society. Non-conformism ready for you to purchase, when you get back from buying your Exploited t-shirt at the mall.

This is the worst review I have seen on this site. It has nothing to do with the album at all. This album by the way is nearly flawless. Nerve Agents were a great band and "Days of the White Owl" was their best album. Amazing.

By DIY hardcore, what bands are you referring to??? When you say DIY hardcore, bands that come into my mind are His hero is gone, Tragedy, From Ashes Rise, Skitsystem, Religious War, world burns to death, totalitar, etc. I would HARDLY say those bands copy each other. Sure, Tragedy sounds like His hero is gone, but half of his hero is gone is in Tragedy. In my humble opinion DIY hardcore is the only redeming aspect of a scene that was once very much underground, pissed off, and dangerous. Ohh, and I hope you've actually gone to a DIY hardcore show before you started to bash it.

Any kind of hardcore with a certain amount of speed and intensity is fun to listen to.

I'm sorry, but I don't see why everyone has to listen to new and original music all the time, sometimes people like to just have a good time.

And people who have shirts that say "Band" on them need to be hunted down and shot in the face.

i would praise you for your editorial (after distinguishing between an editorial and a review of course) if it weren't for the fact that it wasn't even an editorial. nobody wants to hear your incoherent rants about losing faith in punk, especially by using a great band like the Nerve Agents as a seemingly random target chosen only for popularity to spread your message. by comparing the nerve agents to such bands as the sex pistols and green day, you are establishing a connection which i, for one, don't understand. how are the nerve agents like these bands at all besides the obvious "punk" label that all of them are thrown into? even worse is your assumption that this band is making a "living" out of "hate," and is entirely shallow and insincere. last i remember, the nerve agents broke up, and probably aren't rotting in their multi-million dollar estates. the ultimate decision for creative power lies with THE BAND, that is, the entity who makes the music available to the public. of all the targets you could have chosen for your rant, you decided on a relatively small, defunct band notorious for its ferocity and musicianship, rather than its message.

you may have lost faith in punk, but i've just lost faith in the educational system. congratulations sir, you are a moron.

AND do you see the irony in the posting of your "punk is dead" tirade on THIS WEBSITE? Come ON man!
