Whole albums of cover songs can be a dangerous thing. Most people can only put up with so many songs in a row that aren't original, unless they're being done humorously [see Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, or to a lesser extent Richard Cheese]. Suburban Home Records found a solution to the boredom of full cover albums - just do an EP's worth! Seems simple, really. So Stereotyperider has the honors of kicking off the label's Under The Influence covers EP series, and they kick it off with a bang. Please login or register to post comments. Kirby just shut the fuck up. You're a fuckin pansy ass idiot with nothing good to say. Kill yourself. Ghost Writer was the coolest show ever on Television history. The kids always had to trust the little floaty light to tell them how to solve the crime and they would do it like little troopers! Then it eventually was brought to our senses through the awesome invention of stereo sound. Ghost Writer in Stereo was truly a great moment in human development. Scott, about the coverart... you can fold the booklet 4 ways, so you can have any of the 4 covers on the front. This band's bassist ... looks exactly like Our Lord Jesus Christ. Seeing them play is like going to see The Passion. Go find a copy of Ghoti Hook's last self-titled EP. It was on Velvet Blue Music. It blows away anything else they did. Amazing. "Ghoti Hook does the best cover of "Where is My Mind" ever. EVER. this shit sucks. eddie's a faggot. ben kweller bloz. Damn, the Quicksand cover ("Lie and Wait" off Slip) is dead on. This dude even sounds quite a bit like Walter. This score is for both of Quicksand's LPs, fucking masterpieces. Ghoti Hook FUCKING RULES!!! I fucking love their cd "Sumo Surprise." This score is for that cd. The cover art is slightly misleading - the actual cover of the CD is the Archers Of Loaf cover. The other three covers pictured are all printed inside the booklet. It's still cool, though. the fourth one would be archers of loaf with "Vee Vee" Anyone who has the balls to cover Quicksand better be good! SHIT, little did I notice that they bit Seaweed's "Spanaway" artwork in the top left corner of their own cover. Fugazi, the Pixies, Seaweed, and who is the fourth one? Seaweed in my opinion is up there with Jawbreaker in terms of bands that people "just didn't get" when they were active touring bands. Now you can't go to a local show without seeing a band influenced by the sounds of these two bands. Ghoti Hook does the best cover of "Where is My Mind" ever. EVER. Isnt this band like Common Rider? This is a strong ep in my opinion. I also can't wait for the gamits and planesmistakenforstars 'under the influence' cds. And any band that was influenced by Seaweed rules in my book. one of the best records released so far this year...this band straight rules it regardless, but this record is like your own personal mix tape...come one, they cover fucking seaweed! how hot it that! this release is really strong - STEREOTYPERIDER just have that honest, scruffiness to their sound that makes it feel so alive, and they treat this amazing songs with a huge amount of respect. they covered "lowest part is free" by the archers, and it is very very nice on the ears. score is for that cover. im looking forward to the planesmistakenforstars "under the influence" Archers of Loaf comptelely own. White Trash Heroes was such an amazing disc. Yeah, which Archers song did they cover? wow, archers of loaf? that band owns if none of you have heard them (they broke up 5 years ago, i was lucky enough to see them twice), go listen to them now....btw, what loaf song do they cover? |
