Twisted by Design...one of the best CD's Fat has ever put out. Strung Out put out such a great CD and left everyone with high expectations. All they needed was 8 songs.

Element of Sonic Defiance, their second EP and it doesn't get much better than this. This is most definitly Strung Out at it's best. Opening song "Mission to Mars", is one their hardest songs ever and it only shows that their not going to mellow out, unlike some bands. "Scarecrow", show a more melodic side while still keeping that Strung Out edge. "Savant", this is by far the best song on the cd. This song reminds me a lot of "Bring Out Your Dead", but I think that this songs far surpasses it. "Everyday", picks it up and then slows it down - Jordan Burns is amazing (not many can compare to this guy). "Jackie-O", Strung Out returns to the issue of government by writing a song about Jackie Onasis and the Kennedy assasination. The close out song "Mephisto", is in my opinion one of their best songs.

Element, is Strung Out at their finest. Jason Cruz leads his band of outlaws through another great CD. and nobody does it better than Strung Out - many do try. These guys definitly keep outdoing themselves...buckle your seatbelt and get ready for Element Of Sonic Defiance and STRUNG OUT.

Well, it's just stupidly good! Nothing else you can say. Same old distinctive Strung Out sound, but very different to the previous album. They never stand still.

Powerful, tuneful, provocative ..... no other band comes close to this lot. They are the standard by which others should be judged.

    My Score:

This is not an ep. Good EP's leave you feeling cheated, like you wish the band had bothered to write six more songs. Well, no one is cheated here, Strung Out only need 8 songs to prove they are still the best.
Q:Have these guys ever put out anything crap???
A:No, well maybe Skinny Years, but everyone has to start somewhere.

i skipped classes and ran to the music store the day this came out, it wasn't in so i had to order one. i was soo excited until i got it. i was expecting somethign simliar to twisted by design which is probably my fav punk album ever (and i have 100's), i don't know what kinda crack you guys have been smoking but it didn't make me like this cd very much. songs are ok, that's about it... just ok, not good. i was real let down when i saw them live about a week later and they pretty much played the whole new album.

This band is simply amazing. All the way from Another Day In Paradise to this cd, they have never written a bad song. No punk band that I have heard can compare to them.

I bought this EP from fat wreck chords the moment it came out. And let me tell you this 8 song CD has more punch behind it than all the other albums combined!....to put it in short it knocked me flat on my ass!

only if the score could go to 11 like the amps in spinal tap, i'd turn it up to 11. i have much respect for the guys of strung out. album after album, it keeps getting better and better, never losing their unique style and power. get this album, only after aquiring the other strung out albums, its well worth your time and money.
